Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

This is one of the very few songs I've heard that deals with friendship between women and loss.

"Maureen"

Maureen
It's hard to explain
I'm never going to see you again
And you'll never meet my new friends
Maureen, I miss you
I just can't explain
I'm never going to see you again
I wish you could meet my new friends

Walking along the subway listening to
Loving you is easy acapella
You were a souped-up car in that rent-a-go-kart town
And I miss you, Maureen

We're as thick as thieves

Maureen maureen
Remember when my mother said to me
Sade don't you come home to late
Till you're back I stay awake

And maureen
With the boys you could tell at a glance
You'd say he looks good
Let'd hope he can dance
Wicky wacky party to the..

Where are we going tonight
And what will you be wearing
Shone like a souped-up car in that rent-a-go-kart town
And I miss you maureen, I miss you girl

You were my best friend
I'm never going to see you again, maureen
And you'll never meet my new friends
You really were a pearl in my world, maureen

Maureen
It's hard to explain
You'll never call round to see me again
You'll never meet my new friends

Never meet my new friends
Never meet my new friends
Never meet my new friends
[Repeat to fade]

Astounding. I love how some of the kids can't be disciplined little robots and move during the song. Great find, Daniel!
I just noticed that the fidgeting reaches a peak among the non vocal part of the choir just before the next Halayluya sp,":O}

The timeless technical master Jeff Beck, and my absolute favorite cover of "'Cause We've Ended As Lovers". George, you will love the bass playing of Tal Wilkenfeld. She was 20 years old here, and already considered to be one of the most exciting bass players in the world:
Oh NO!

Where to begin.I don't quite know how to answer without sounding like a real PPM!.Marine laughed when she saw what name I used online.I like the irony of it. She understood right from the jump-and approved!
I'm dealing with health issues that are serious. Besides being bi-polar,areal ball breaker. I have spinal stenosis, hep c,(aleft over from the good ol' days!)and Parkinson's disease. All are being dealt with quite well this last couple of years.
As far as family is concerned, my two brothers live and farm here in Othello. They moved me here from Spokane about 5yrs ago and I have been slowly climbing upwards ever since.
I'm doing well.
..

You are genuinely climbing above your more than fair share of burdens. My hat is off to you, PPM!

I've listened to Jonny for a long time now.

Jonny Lang is a great player, and an even better singer. He had that voice already when he was just a kid, playing on the bar circuit at 17 or 18 years old. If you listen to some of his early work, you'll hear what I'm talking about.

My favorite, "Red Light"

And "Breakin' Me":

He certainly is a great player and also a great singer. Thank you very much for this introduction, Thunder!

The late, great Roy Buchanan. A virtuoso of the blues, and light years ahead of his time.

I confuse this most excellent master guitar player with Roy Clark, the country musician, guitar player and comedian--at least on the popular tv show "Hee Haw."

Mr Buchanan could have used a volume pedal but perhaps he had an aversion to floor pedals, his use of the volume knob on that Telecaster is masterful.

Thank you for posting this video, Jeff Beck is in a class of his own. I was blown away my Tal Walkenfeld playing with Jeff Beck at the Crossroads Festival in 2007. I was lucky and caught this on tv. She is an amazement, a true genius. All of 20 years of age in this video, this woman astonished me.

Eric Clapton & Sheryl Crow- Good music!
Another Clapton.

Sheryl Crow on stage with Eric Clapton? Talk about a miracle for her! This woman started at the top when she was a terrible musician, I mean she was making big bucks when she was worse than I am. See what I mean?
I grant that she improved a lot but--playing with Eric Clapton? Maybe it was mass hypnosis? Being attractive must have aided her a LOT. All imho, naturally.

TR> He was only young...":O}

I didn't know that "The Blues Brothers" went on without John Belushi. If so, imho, John Goodman as John Belushi is a good substitute. Visually. In the original band Mr Belushi took care of ninety five percent of the singing duties, I don't know if John Goodman can sing.
This rendition of "634-5789" is good.

Given your up bringing it may follow you thee rest of your life...

if you let it.

"Purity of heart means to will one thing."
Kierkegaard.

Think about that. Always willing one thing. If we must choose one thing to will then we must choose very carefully.
Is there just one thing we can safely will in all times and in all places?

Thank the heavens there is. I mean that thank the Heavens RIGHT NOW!

And may understand what I'm about to say.

We can will to have pure and unblemished hearts, we can will the Good.

We spoke of this earlier.

"The original nature of man is good.
But it becomes clouded by contact with Earthly things"

(We become entangled in desire, passion and stubbornness which leads inevitably to sorrow.)

"our natures must be purified before they can shine forth again in their native clarity.

"All well and good to will the good, but what if I find my will is already corrupted and will not let go of the "10,000 things to be desired.

Ah there's the rub"

Lucky for you I'm here to tell you how to become a breaker of chains.

How can we enter what only allows purity to grow fourth, to pass from entanglements into Grace.

The answer is indeed not easy for all that it is clear and simple.

This is man's eternal choice. To do what I want or to do what is wanted of me.

I say eternal because the choice is every moment before us.
But also because what we choose will have eternal consistences.

We are called by our own souls to undertake and then to constantly search our hearts lest they harbor any secretive opposition to the will of God.

"So I find such opposition in my heart what then?"

You must go to war for your god if you wish him to go to war for you.

You must root out all such opposition for it is the death of your own happiness.

We must be constantly vigilant that what we want does not annihilate what we need.
"When we are never to tired day or night to see the good is done. Only then can we be said to be sincere,"

Now comes immediacy now comes almost unbearable intimacy of the NOW in it's eternal moment!

What lies in your heart NOW? How to bring correction Now?

Here's possibly the most obvious secret in the whole world.

To be truly present in the now, you must leave all your head trips behind. You must silence yourself and listen..
Listen to what your heart is thinking. Yes that's right your head is really only there to listen to your heart and find a way to bring the light of your hearts to expression.

This is the part that leaves the pikers weeping in the dust.

We must Choose this. we must choose this every minute of every day. This is what we must be about.

When we greet our friends, when we take our meals, when we are asleep when we are awake we must be listening to our hearts lest thy harbor any secret opposition to the will of God.

Beware! My Teacher once told me that :

"God don't accept no part time lovers."

This is the heavenly journey. This IS how to move forward into transcendence and the sacred world.

If the mind is focused upon listening it can't be talking, it can't be lusting the latest bright and shiny.

Again nothing can be accomplished here by force. A gentle penetration the reaches the very center of your heart is what is called for.

We must trust ourselves and follow where our hearts lead us checking always every minute lest you harbor any opposition to the will of God.

"This means letting the fish swim free in the sea."

Let your thought go where they will, you are only an observer now.

You are only the guard at the gate to the NOW.

You must follow the path without wanting to get anywhere. Your job is not to progress but only to see that you ARE progressing.
God is in no hurry, why should you be.

I'm mean nobody can storm and rush the now..to enter the now we must be on time...His time., you know that guy with the great big hands and tiny tiny fingers.

Big enough to hold a universe and tiny enough to enter your smallest thought un-noticed.

I don't think she is as bad as all that but you do know how to make a point!
