Stranded at the far reaches of the universe, three dwarven astronauts team together out
of the wreckage of their failed expedition. Find a way back to the dwarven kingdom in
this tactical action-adventure.

  • Single-player game where you control three-dwarves team, each of them having their own set of exclusive skills;
  • Active game pause mode, for better setting of tactic moves - just stop the game and command your dwarves what to do, and watch them performing when you release the pause;
  • You can create the sequence of actions for all three characters at the same time (stack of commands);
  • Depending on what you want from the level, you can play in the style of slasher or think through stealth tactics and use environment wisely. That brings fun in replaying the levels;
  • The creatures living in the world of the Endless Stone can not only communicate with each other, they have senses to see, hear or smell your trace, which makes...

Looks like we may be getting a 1.8 release by the end of the year... hopefully!
I was really hoping Direct X 10 & 11 would be implemented by 1.8

Its probably unlikely they will be implementing Direct X 10 & 11 so soon, but its nice to see they are close to a 1.8 release.

I hope they have fixed the SteamWebHelper.exe crashing and inability to browse the Store

Linus Torvalds Announces Linux 4.0, has problems counting [again]

  • 2,868

The Boss says that the next kernel release will be 4.0, after a developers' survey that asked if they were ready to start a new numbering series. The next kernel would have been 3.20 if the devs hadn't voted for 4.0.

He says the new number series doesn't mean that much, except that "I can do releases without having to take off my socks again." If you remember, going from 2.x to 3.x was for much the same reason, as I reported here: https://www.aoaforums.com/forum/linux/49804-linus-cant-count-40-dubs-kernel.html

Interestingly enough, the 'strongest argument' for the new scheme seems to be that people have "a wish to see 4.1.15 - because "that was the version of Linux skynet used for the T-800 terminator." [The version of the android played by Arnold Schwartzenegger.]

After a month of experimentation and discussion, we can announce that the *OFFICIAL* IRC channel for Gamers On Linux is at:

irc.oftc.net
#GamersOnLinux

Aremis has pitched in and will help supervise the channel, I'll be in there, and anyone else who wants to can drop by and have a bit of a chat with us. Beware of the time zones and don't get frustrated, thinking we are ignoring you: you might not get an answer right away until we have more participants lurking around. I'm in GMT +7, and Aremis is in GMT -6. If I'm sleeping, you'll see my name as 'thunderrd[away]', so you know I won't be back for some time. Aremis and I plan to be logged in 24/7, but of course, we aren't always available.

Like most things of this nature, popularity can develop slowly, so give it a try and see how you like it.

Just go in, ask away, and idle in the channel; hopefully if this thing gets rolling we can have some of our 'experts' around frequently. Make appointments with your mates if you want...
