Proton handles SuchArt pretty good... every once in a while there is a stuttering-effect while painting but its tolerable. The only thing I'm not happy with is the lack of tablet support. As an artist, I would love to use my tablet and actually paint detailed art instead of abstract shapes. I assumed that my Wacom tablet (which acts just like a mouse) would work, but once the game is launched it doesn't. Stuck with painting only using...

One True Hero is developed by a single person and has many polished features of an epic indie game. I was able to play in Proton without any issues. I reached out to the developer on reddit with hopes of a native port, but its hard enough to develop a Windows port in Unity by yourself. There may be a chance of a native port in the future, but until then, enjoy the free demo with Proton.

Elteria Adventures is a minecraft-sandbox clone with high poly characters and monsters. Explore massive floating islands, mine for resources and craft your hearts desires. The current Alpha edition runs very well in Linux. I initially noticed the audio was pretty quiet and thought that it wasn't working, but turn it up and all the sound effects are there. Also, there is a bug where you use the teleportation device and end up in the same location... but if you quit the game and restart, you will transport to the new location. Other than that, it runs great and is pretty dang fun! I've played Minetest for years with my family and co-op is always funner because you can mine, craft and fight together...

Death Trash is an 8-bit retro action RPG inspired by classics like the Fallout series. Your character begins in a vault-ish base where robots protect the un-infected. You have been cast out into the open-world where meat and flesh are your only hope. Wield all kinds of guns, swords, lasers and blunt instruments to loot your way around the wasteland.

The demo is a native port for Linux and plays beautifully! Since its a retro 8-bit inspired game, performance wasn't an issue. I can't wait for the full game release because this is going to be an epic story with all kinds of NCPs and mutated monsters all around the world.

acornbringer was nice enough to provide a native Linux version of the demo for us. It is short, but has some very nice story telling and retro-3D environments. I can't wait to see what it will be like when the game is complete.

Altered is a puzzle game made of boxes. Yes boxes... but you can't just stay in the box to solve them... you have to go "outside the box" in your mind and on your keyboard. I tried running the mod in Linux GZDoom but couldn't get it to run, but running it in PlayOnLinux with Wine works perfectly on my GeForce GTX 1060! I didn't have any performance issues or anything... just ran great!

Setting Sun is an indie Co-op Roguelite Dungeon Crawler in a Japanese world. Over come soldiers with your Shinai and collect coins to upgrade your abilities. Find the portal and power-up dragon, then advance until you can save your Sensie in order to learn more skills. Built in the Unity 3D engine, graphics are crisp and professional with linear grid of areas which load quickly. Enemies get hard really fast, but you an block or dodge their attacks to survive. Find the well of heal to replenish your health bar.

The Linux version on itch.io is an untested release but runs very well on my GeForce GTX 1060. The only problem I had was the game resolution. I had to add the width/height commands and run it from the Terminal to get 1920x1080. Also the game requires a controller to play, so I used my Amazon Basics Xbox controller without any issues.

O.V.N.I Abduction is a short horror game inspired by P.T. Remake. You awaken alone at a hotel in the woods and your friends are missing. O.V.N.I Abduction ran just fine in stable Wine with PlayOnLinux. I always install DXVK and Media Foundation when testing games, but other than that, the game ran well with my GeForce GTX 1060. This is a very short game, but also interesting and with a few jump-scares. Totally worth the free download!

I was able to play the demo from a direct download. Apparently the Launcher has some issues so I didn't even try it. I used PlayOnLinux to setup a wineprefix and extracted the game to it. Then I used Wine 6.0 64-bit to test the game, but had some issues with fullscreen and mouse. I eventually settled on ProtonGE 5.9 because it ran perfectly! No serious issues with my GeForce GTX 1060.

Ravee provides a Linux port made in Unity and it runs beautifully! There are some nice presets for graphics and audio. I was able to play without any serious performance problems! I was able to play Blade Of Agony in the Linux GZDoom using the command line to launch the game. Unfortunately the 2nd level was extremely slow to the point where it was unplayable. I did a bit of research and tried to made some adjustments in the game, but just couldn't play. So of course I gave-it-a-go in PlayOnLinux with Wine and it plays beautifully! The developers admit that there are some features not meant to run in GZDoom which may play a part in the performance loss with OpenGL.... so give it a try with Wine!
