Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

My 1st day of my first year in jr collage. A class on ethics.
As I was leaving I noticed. a pin up boar by the door .

I simply stood there for a 1/2 hour.

I never wanted to forget those words I read and reread , Someone had just told me "like it is"
what i should expect and what there was to hope for.

“Ah, love, let us be true
To one another! for the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams,
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain;
And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night.”

― Matthew Arnold, Dover Beach and Other Poems

This is one FINE poem. Thank you very much Dan!

with best wishes to all in the coming year, an old poem found by Robert Burns set to music and carrying his blessings to the entire world.

Modern English Translation

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o’ lang syne!

Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne,
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pu’d the gowans fine,
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot
Sin’ auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl’t in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
Sin’ auld lang syne.

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie’s a hand o’ thine,
And we’ll tak a right guid willie-waught
For auld lang syne!

And surely ye’ll be your pint’ stoup,
And surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

Times Gone By

Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And days of long ago!

Chorus:
For times gone by, my dear
For times gone by,
We will take a cup of kindness yet
For times gone by.

We two have run about the hillsides
And pulled the daisies fine,
But we have wandered many a weary foot
For times gone by.

We two have paddled (waded) in the stream
From noon until dinner time,
But seas between us broad have roared
Since times gone by.

And there is a hand, my trusty friend,
And give us a hand of yours,
And we will take a goodwill drink (of ale)
For times gone by!

And surely you will pay for your pint,
And surely I will pay for mine!
And we will take a cup of kindness yet
For times gone by!

Betcha that Africans are STILL proud of these lions! I know I am!
See the Ghost and the darkness and you'll come to a different understanding. These lions killed for sport.
they eat men still screaming in pain and licked their faces off. the workers were mostly from India. The Africans natives did not believe they were Lions, They did not act like Lions, They believed they were demon brothers.

Bored shitless, and looking for things to do around the house. Kids are bouncing off the walls with no school, having missed the current school year. I'm hoping that we'll be able to get them back to Thailand for the April/May start of the new school year.

It's not terrible, though. I might be bored but I'm getting good quality time with the family which is never a bad thing.
I hope you hate this as much as I do. but it;s truth is un-get-overable
"There are no boring situations, there are only bored minds."

How are your businesses holding up?
The simple fact that your all healthy is all the blessing we need so I won't try to drag more out of you.":O}

a quote from 7th grade:
"If I told you you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me?"

Oh, that Robbie. Reading this makes me hungry for a haggis, lolz. Burns Night is January 25, so I'm going to get ready.

And Dan... you will find comfort in the fact that that your spelling is STELLAR compared to his ;) :) For a smart guy, he was a terrible speller, heh

Do you know what Craig Ferguson said about haggis?
"Haggis is kinda like a hotdog with a bad publicist."

I confess I didn't watch the movie. Some posts require a LOT of time. I assumed(wrong again) that the lions were killing off the hideous Brit colonizers. A noble undertaking. Not because they were British, because colonization sucks.
