Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?


One of my favorite Joni songs.
What a band: Lyle Mays, Michael Brecker, Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny, Don Alias. This was the caliber of musicians this woman surrounded herself with, and every one of them wanted to play with her. That is why she's a musical anomaly. Extraordinary and timeless.

It's my feeling that as a song writer and singer There are but a very few
that can stand beside her, those that do, as you point out, stand above all the rest.

There are so many truly great songs. But very few can can lay claim to so many of them as our Joni.
 
Just maybe the most beautiful Lalabye ever written;. It seems to wander
dream like though a sleepers mind. Touching lightly upon this and that.
But always returning to the moment she will awaken as if fearing that sleep
so serine might woo her away from him.

Adoration is but a dream away.

Yes, it's an extremely small and elite group.
