Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

tragic song about the male condition trying to build a life only to find loneliness and despair. Most of us have been "sitting at the dock at the bay" at one point ore another.
.
As soon as I had heard of him, I heard him. As soon as I heard him he was gone.
Ships passing in the night become all the more heart-felt, if one of them is sinking beyond our means to help.

Two blues men, one love.

Check out BB, his finger work in his 80"s

Gone now.We remain to remember and miss him. No new music from his guitar.

This song takes a bit of attention. The lyrics are at times hard to follow. We are hearing about the effects of lost love, the jealousies and fears of the newly broken hearted. It is laced with obscure references, that with effort on our parts can be untangled. I reference "out on the D train" This refers the Dylan's past loves.

This is a psychological study of massive heart break and it Amazes me!

Dig this lyric:
"The ghost of electricity howls in the bones of her face"

"Jewels and Binoculars hang from the head of the mule"

Change Mule to ass and you arrive at an understanding of why they make this all "Seem so cruel." Genitalia are not welcome in the middle of a break up.

The lyrics are remote but not inaccessible. Have fun "Decoding " Dylan, it's really worth the effort.

Of all his many many many songs. This one holds my attention as do few others.
It is I think Dylan's opus on America, a country he loves and at the same time must despise.

Like many of his songs it appears to be stream of a consciousness.

And what you also may not know is that the second guitar line in Layla was played by none other than the late Duane Allman, who so impressed Clapton that he publicly said something to the effect that 'Duane is the finest blues/rock guitarist around'.

He had a pedigree: Wilson Pickett, Boz Scaggs, and Aretha Franklin all used him as their session guitarist, among many others. All this was before the Allman Brothers Band stole our hearts.
Funny the way true talent just creeps up on us and is suddenly there!

...And she seemed like such a nice girl...":O}

Yet if you listen to it three times.. still creepy by now you've got creepy stuck in your head!

Same girl-same song-different back up, Pentatronics. The fact that she holds her own with them is amazing!

Yes, the girl will hopefully continue with music! Nice performance! jfsg (Just for poops and grins,) I didn't think you had the name of Pentatonix right. Sorry to me apita here.

One of the rock classics .along with an instrumental that is the bomb" as George would say.Rock out, boys!

Derek and the Dominoes sure took over the rock world for a few well deserved weeks with "Layla." What a best of best of songs. Naw, I never say "the b...". Far too dangereuse (as them Frenchies say) I am perhaps overly concerned about going onto some idiot's bad person list. That's why I only use the French spelling and that's not often.

It took me quite a while to find out that Duane Allman also plays guitar, and fantastically in this tune. "Eat a Peach" is a painful LP that commemorates his passing.

This instrumental of "Layla" starts out badly yet becomes surprisingly good. Thank you for posting the original "Layla" plus this too.

Having been properly chastised, I humbly beg forgiveness for spelling Pentatonix incorrectly.
(not realy-I don't give a rip!)LOL

Yes, this is a sad one. He had "really made it" but that's not enough for some people. Thankfully!
I was so sorry when he crashed his airplane. Maybe he didn't know that light twins are very dangerous to fly for at least just one reason. Details supplied on request.

Have you not seen my Avatar? I use this Avatar as it hides my age. It adorns me with a rare beauty I alas no longer posses. Women go for my Avatar, not so much my actual continence.

In my Dreams I hear Grace slick asking if I was once as beautiful as my Avatar.
I bury my head in my pillow and Lie to Grace I tell her flat out Yes.
But in my dream she knows it isn't true.

My wife at 66 still holds for me my very definition of famine beauty.

She has shaped my sense of beauty since I first met her/ I don't see her as she once was but as she stands before me now. And I fall in love all over again.

What ever a woman's virtue, accomplishment. sacrifice or appearance; her beauty must come from her heart.
For it is in a womans heart that we find her. In a womans heart that we are found.

This being so I enjoin you to hear what My man Percy has to say on the subject:

Addendum. This is a response to post #517 in this thread. Easy to get cornfused with all of these posts that cite specific posts.

I've never heard the first song before. It is a wise admonition. Thanks for posting it, Daniel! The second most of us have heard thousands of times. They are both very good songs.

It's been what? Fourteen years since I've seen you and your wife? Friends, I must honestly relate that Daniel most likely could NEVER have made a better choice.

Suffice it to say that Patti is a singularly wonderful woman. And beautiful too.

Addition:
So sorry, I missed what you wrote about your overwhelming masculine beauty.
Great apologies, Daniel. I can't get a handle on your appearance all of those years ago. My bad?

Your better half certainly registered on me, but truth to tell I can't recall an actual face from memory. Yet what's left from memory was impressive in many ways.

Used to think I never forgot a face. So many illusions fallen by the wayside!

Argh, more flaws of mine exposed.
