    The past week has been really special for me! LOL

    the wire on my key board got pulled lose. Stem check arrived so we bought one. it Arrived in two days/

    But my computer refused to post or boot hit the button...nothing not even a weak attempt st booting.
    Check all connection which I already know are good ran fine until it didn't.

    having limited knowledge and unable to connect with my resource department
    (That would be you guys.)

    i made a calculated guess and ordered a new power sup[ply.
    Then Patti said why don't you let me clean your case"
    And disappeared up to her hips popping out only to gather new cleaning supplies!

    That woman Pulled my hard drive cages un-wired my entire box so she could clean the wires "properly."

    I was beginning to think I'd never see my on line friends again!
    If one were to go bu looks you would have to say I got back something more akin to a brand new computer. Women...who knew!!
    My key board wire was so lose that It had to be replace.
    Got tire of the Logitech wires going bad in a few months to a year, so my third one upon replacement was my last one. got one at half the price of the ultra lite...and went wireless!

    But I've never gone wireless before and can't find or figure out how to get mint to see and use it.
    So if any cn tell me how to set it up I would be most great-full.

    Good talk, good to be home":O}

    Which wireless keyboard did you get?

    I recently decided to go all wireless at home too. 4 of my Mint PCs are wireless and I bough Logitech only. Each one of them work just fine for over a year now.

    I bought the K800.
    I had fiddle a bit as I had Zero idea as to how WiFi wireless worked.
    What I really needed to know was that it takes a minute for them to be recognized by the system.

    Me and my baby black box are all in and for the good now! ":O}

    I set up my PS4 wireless. But have been unable to figure out how to tell my computer to seek out my home network.

    You seem like the kinda guy who might be able to lead me to victory!

    Awesome!
    Linux is great with new and old hardware! Its quite amazing!
    Thank to you I'm still using Mint to this day. I even have it installed on 9 computers at home.
    I've even worked from home as a Service Desk tech. Mint still did everything I needed!

    Oh Boo! Just remembered to ask you.
    How long does your Keyboard last before you must recharge the battery?

    That is a great question!
    Years ago I refused to buy wireless devices because of the stupid batteries.
    But I noticed people at work using wireless keyboards and mice without changing the batteries for months.

    So far I have only changed batteries once since last year.
    So most of they devices can last 4-6 months depending on use.
    I also switch them off at night to save battery life.

    One great feature for me is that they switch off. I'm always restarting my box accidentally when putting my key board away. No more! ":O)

    That is strange, how is your computer turning off from the keyboard?
    I know some keyboards have a "sleep" key and maybe the fancy ones have a shutdown key, but not sure if the Linux Kernel supports it?

    Sorry I fumbled that one":O}
    My new keyboard has a turn off switch once off if I hit my space-bar nothing happens. no return to desktop. When I switch my keyboard back on and hit my space-bar my box lights up like puppies chasing tit.":O}

    Rem,ember I live in very cramped quarters which suits me fine
    But keyboards tend to get bumped.

    I never really turn my box off, I put it in suspend. from which it awakens when hit my space-bar. But things are rather tight and my keyboard often get a small bump to that very same space-bar and it wakes up after everything else is turned off, do i have to turn my monitor back on to put it back to sleep.

    I know it seems a small thing, but around the fifth time it happens...&*$&*%$$#@

    spent nearly all day monkeying around with my trackball.
    Worked great yesterday, to day I spent hours getting it back.

    I must of read a dozen worthless How to set up my trackball
    articles. Finally found the right man to lead me!

    I switch to bluetooth from USB, My track ball is supposed to do both, but many have complained that bluetooth is non negotiable And I could not get it to go back to USB.
    Finally my man clued me in.

    You turn off the computer, install the usb numb while trackball is set to Bluetooth, then turn it back on and flip the switch to USB while holding the trackball RIGHT UP NEXT to your USB nub now in a USB slot. The right up next to the USB numb did the trick for me.
    So for whatever it may be worth to someone.":O}

    Ok, that makes sense. Mint is going to sleep and your keyboard wakes it up... unless the keyboard is off.
    Can you link us to the keyboard you bought?
    I would like to see it.
