This game wasn't actually very scary, but it had some amazing visuals and interesting puzzles. Everything played fine in ProtonGE as it was developed in Unreal Engine. My GeForce GTX 1060 handled performance and I was able to play through the entire game.

The demo runs perfectly in Steam with Proton. My GeForce GTX 1060 handled the graphics all set on high and I was able to save and reload the game without any problems. This is an action adventure game with inventory and lists of objectives.

Firewatch is a story of a lonely forest ranger in Wyoming trying to escape the harsh realities of life. His wife is sick with dimentia and they are separated while he "finds himself". But even in the forest you are not alone. There are fires to investigate and a large forest to protect.

The Developer, Campo Santo provides us with a native Linux version and it runs beautifully on my GeForce GTX 1060. I was able to crank all the video settings to high and enjoy the natural beauty of the toonshaded forest. Even if there wasn't a story, I would enjoy exploring the forest and taking screenshots.

Ash Asylum demo is a creepy introduction into a haunted asylum with puzzles and jump-scares. Search through the remains of a derelict madhouse with your lighter. Not everything is as it seems... Interact with objects and find a way through this hellish prison before you are locked in it for eternity.



I was unable to run the Linux version, but the Windows demo ran perfectly on my GeForce GTX 1060 in Proton. I was able to play without any bugs or artifacts. The graphics and lighting are stunning and creepy. Some of the puzzles are easy and other are very hard. You will acquire plenty of items which are not utilized in the demo, but hopefully are needed in the full game.

Dungeon Nightmares was so good that I stumbled on the sequel and decided to purchase it!

Dungeon Nightmares II is a much improved horror experience with a new story-like experience. You wake up in a mysterious hotel room with the time of day on the screen. Exploring the hallways is useless as none of the doors are unlocked... but at the end of a hallway is a creepy elevator. Take it down to the basement dungeon and find a way out. Alive if at all possible!

Disaster Report was built in Unreal Engine and ran very well with ProtonGE on my GeForce GTX 1060. At first the game wouldn't run at all, probably because my wineprefix was missing DXVK. Once that was all setup, the game launched and played perfectly! I had never heard of Disaster Report before and wasn't sure what it was about... after playing the demo, I'm anxious to see what happens next.

Graphically Eden is cleverly designed with stylistic and beautiful textures. The models and assets are designed to enhance the environment without standing out. What you see is not what you think it is... Take a second look. I was truly amazed at the genius puzzles! I played through twice just to make sure I did everything.

Wine in PlayOnLinux was able to handle this game nicely on my GeForce GTX 1060. In fact I had to stop mid game and found that it saved my progress and I was able to continue. Eden is now one of my most favorite indie thrillers. I hope these developers make more games!

Montti Constanttini is a first person horror puzzle game where you play as Jack, a little boy, who is can explore his dark spooky house. Find your stuffed animals and pack them away before you run out of time.
One of the most interesting features in Montti Constanttini is that Jack can look very closely at any object in the game. The perspective of the camera and Jacks smaller size give you more flexibility to look over the edge of tables or down into a box.

This prologue is just a 1hr demo of Adam Lost Memories. Developed in Unreal Engine you can purchase the full game and play through the entire story. The full game was not tested. The prologue ran fairly well in PlayOnLinux with ProtonGE and DXVK. There were a few areas where the framerate dropped, but it was infrequent.

Manual Samuel is a clever comedy 2D puzzle/action game where you are forced to control every single one of Samuel's extremities:

• Eyes
• Breathing
• Hands
• Feet
• Balance

This is no easy task because you have to do multiple things at once using multiple keys. Its hilarious watching him fall over or throw hot coffee in his own face. Each scene is a new challenge to make Samuel do normal every day things manually.


Proton in Steam runs the game almost perfectly. The only problem I had was fullscreen. The game thinks its in fullscreen, but the top of the window is visible and the Linux panel is still visible. So I minimized the panel and just left it like in the video.

Before Sleep is a creepy nightmare runner where a freaky creature is chasing you in a dream maze. As you find notes which tell you what you need to escape, the creature speeds up. It can follow you anywhere you go... hurry and get the items before it catches you.


I was able to play Before Sleep without any problems in PlayOnLinux with ProtonGE and DXVK. It ran great, probably because the whole maze is made up of square rooms. So easy to model and render real-time on my GeForce GTX 1060.

Beyond The Thaw is a short demo of a first person winter survival. You wake up from a plane crash in a forest during a harsh winter. Packs of wolves are on the move and you need to stay warm.

This game is beautiful! Amazing visuals and stunning snowy blizzard-like environment. You really feel like you are controller the character and stuck in this hopeless forest.

Beyond The Thaw is developed in Unreal Engine 4 and ran really well using ProtonGE and DXVK. I was able to extract the game and run it in PlayOnLinux without any issues. It is fairly short and you aren't given a lot of direction on what to do. So plan to retry several times.

Bendy And The Ink Machine base on a cartoon made back in the 30's where you (an animator) re-visits the old studio and find that something has gone terribly wrong. Expect jump scares, spooky cartoon-esque environments, survival elements and puzzles. This first person horror adventure doesn't disappoint. It may be short, but currently on sale during the Steam summer sale.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is story of a french girls and her little brother during the black plague. You will be immersed in tale of horror when they are forced our of their castle as she witnesses the murder of her father and servants. Use stealth tactics to escape unseen and maneuver your environments. Your sling will come in handy to serve as a distraction or weapon. Keep in mind your completely responsible for your brothers safety.

Proton 5.0-7 handles this game really well. I only played the demo, but it ran great without any crashing or stuttering. I was able to handle almost all the settings on high with my GTX 1060. No need for launch options.

Westerado is a 2D open-world, 8-bit inspired, western shoot-em-up action adventure game. Your family was murdered by a bandit and you chase him and his posse down. But first, you got to find him by investigating and asking questions around town. Interact with everyone in the game, quick travel to areas on the map, or lone-gun it riding your horse across dangerous terrain. Sneak through underground mines or across barren deserts. Either way... you are gonna DIE!

Your reputation play an important role in Westerado as well. Locals will help you if you help them first, or they will kill you if you play hard-ball. Once I shot a turkey on some farmers land and he attacked me. Every time I went back to his farm I was his sworn enemy. Be careful who and what you shoot.

Running Westerado was flawless with Proton 5.0-7
Never had any issues with settings, keyboard/mouse or load/save.

Encodya is an point-in-click adventure based in a futuristic Neo-Berlin Germany. Play as Tina and/or SAM-53 her robot protector. The visual style is reminiscent of Bladerunner-ish world with a colorful anime style.

I love the fact that you can play as two characters who are completely different and have their own inventories. The voice acting was great and worked well with the characters presented in the demo. I would love if more items were interactive, but these days gamers no longer have patience to click everything on the screen.

Since its a demo, there are limited areas you can visit. But the animations, graphics and effects are well done and quite beautiful. Encodya ran perfectly in Linux without any extra configurations.
