Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Skin
Sade
When I found out this love's undone
I was like a gun
Sure as it was over
Felt like nothing good could come
Sure as it's gonna play and play
Like michael back in the day
I'm gonna peel you away
Now as I begin
To wash you off my skin
I'm gonna peel you away
Cos you're not right within
I love you so
Sometimes love has to let go
So this time don't think it's a lie
I say goodbye
Now as I begin
To wash you off my skin
I'm gonna peel you away
Cos you're not right within
Now it's time
To wash you off my skin
Now as I begin
It couldn't be right cos you're not right within
I say goodbye

A song of sorrow which brings to our minds all that is good, all those things in life that should keep one in life.

But...

I keep thinking that if the dearly departed had or felt they could get these things, they would be with us still.

I like this, the Stones with a guest, and one of my top 10 Stones songs. And BTW, good luck to Sir Mick, he's back after his heart surgery, opened the new tour yesterday at Soldier Field [this video is NOT the new tour]:

She was so stunningly beautiful that I can't imagine anyone slipping away from her. Than again, none of us are perfect.

Emmylou made an entire album about her tragedy in losing Gram Parsons. She wrote most of it. Plenty of tears come with this LP, "The Ballad of Sally Rose."

I saw the old goat dancing (Rehearsing on TV news) he's doing quite well 10 days out from his surgery. S.O.B. dances like he was 25! You go Mick!! ":O}

She's great, but I haven't heard her voice reach for anything beyond relaxed and casual. So can she really sing? Many say yes!
We all have our limitations. Here a limitation that's unbearable.

Sade, Sade
There is a woman in Somalia
Scraping for pearls on the roadside
There's a force stronger than nature
Keeps her will alive
This is how she's dying
She's dying to survive
Don't know what she's made of
I would like to be that brave
She cries to the heaven above
There is a stone in my heart
She lives a life she didn't choose
And it hurts like brand-new shoes
Hurts like brand-new shoes
There is a woman in Somalia
The sun gives her no mercy
The same sky we lay under
Burns her to the bone
Long as afternoon shadows
It's gonna take her to get home
Each grain carefully wrapped up
Pearls for her little girl
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
She cries to the heaven above
There is a stone in my heart
She lives in a world she didn't choose
And it hurts like brand-new shoes
Hurts like brand-new shoes

We had to wait for the Stones to hear this song sung again.
Check out the fingers on this man. Each hand is hand spider!

It's one of their best songs, no doubt. Saw a many year old interview with Mick Jagger recently. He was asked "Can you see yourself doing this when you're sixty?"
"Oh yes!" he answered. I was too young to believe this was possibly true. Wrong again I was!

I find the "hurts like new shoes" lyric objectionable. If this is how far Sade's imagination can reach the rest of the song isn't worth bothering with. But she does reach with her voice, I stand corrected.

Correction, the song writers are the guilty parties.

A woman is being baked alive to feed a starving child by picking up rice that blows from rice trucks a bit at a time all along the dirt road to no where. You and I can have no idea of what she must endure to feed her child. But we mostly know the blisters when we get a nice shiny pair of new shoes.

If we wear those shoes as we follow behind her bare feet, her impoverished life unfolds before us if we have a conscience those new shoes are really going to hurt our souls.

For me the lyric speaks to tre difference between her life and ours.and seems perfect to me.

But my wife objects as well and I left wondering what the hell is wrong with you two!! ":O}

I didn't know that "pearls" equals "rice." Never have been in Somalia but I assume life there is extremely hard to deal with. But it's a miracle that Patti agrees with me.

I like this Florence woman. Charlie Watts isn't wearing a suit and tie. What's up with that?
