Who's heard Little Richard sing "Shake a Hand"?

Well said, thank you for your post. How do we regain the democracy we lost? This is a very difficult time, I believe that we allowed democracy to slip away into history. Regaining it will require great strength from our people. Do we have the necessary strength? I hope and pray we do.

1 good for 6 bad kings? I imagine you're being too kind to those kings, 1 in 16 seems more accurate.

Wanted to avoid going to exstreams on the King thingy. But as no good kings come to mind, with the exception of the Danish king of 1943 who rode out wearing two yellow star armbands and saved almost every Jew in Denmark.

So I have one good king anyone have another? ":O}

We have not lost our democracy. Rather our democracy awaits humanities coming of age.

There are many bad times ahead of us. But if we can hold on to our democracy we will have prevented the worst of what's to come.

Trummys looking for a war to hide his crimes at home in.

Pray he fails in his kingly endeavor..
Pray he dies soon .

I never thought he could possibly last as long as he has. I never thought the entire US Senate would so betray us. But I have come to know that the modern Republican is a very stupid and spiteful person. This will end in tears. Democracy can withstand most anything except an uninformed and stupid voters.

Truckin' My Blues Away Lyrics
I got a gal here in this town, she's the best lookin' brown around
I got a gal in this town, best lookin' brown around
She's a-strictly tailor-made, she ain't no hand-me-down
Catch you truckin' with her, I'm gonna sure shoot you down
Keep on truckin' mama, truckin' my blues away
Truckin' my blues away
Keep on truckin' mama, truckin' my blues away
Keep on truckin' mama, girl you truck my blues away
I got a gal she's little and neat
When she's starts to truckin', man it's so sweet
Keep on truckin' mama, truckin' my blues away
Truckin' my blues away

Keep on truckin' baby, truckin' my blues away, yeah
Keep on truckin' baby, truckin' my blues away
I know a gal she's long and tall
When she starts to truckin' make a little man squall
Keep on truckin' mama, truckin' my blues away
I mean, truckin' my blues away, yeah

Absolutely Sweet Marie
Bob Dylan
Well, your railroad gate
You know I just can't jump it
Sometimes it gets so hard, you see
I'm just sitting here beating on my trumpet
With all these promises you left for me
But where are you tonight, sweet Marie?
Well, I waited for you when I was half sick
Yes, I waited for you when you hated me
Well, I waited for you inside of the frozen traffic
When you knew I had some other place to be
Now, where are you tonight, sweet Marie?
Well, anybody can be just like me, obviously
But then, now again, not too many can be like you, fortunately
Well, six white horses that you did promise
Were fin'lly delivered down to the penitentiary
But to live outside the law, you must be honest
I know you always say that you agree
Alright so where are you tonight, sweet Marie?
Well, I don't know how it happened, but the
Riverboat captain, he knows my fate
But ev'rybody else, even yourself
They're just gonna have to wait
Well, I got the fever down in my pockets
The Persian drunkard, he follows me
Yes, I can take him to your house but I can't unlock it
You see, you forgot to leave me with the key
Oh, where are you tonight, sweet Marie?
Well now, I been in jail when all my mail showed
That a man can't give his address out to bad company
And now I stand here lookin' at your yellow railroad
In the ruins of your balcony
Wond'ring where you are tonight, sweet Marie

I don't want to be contrary, well maybe I do. Dan, we already lost our democracy. We failed to stand up and say no to thousands of small insults to our democracy and a thousand tears later it is history. Uninforming us is our way of life. The powers in charge purposely removed critical thinking from the curricula. I had no idea how fortunate I was to be taught the ability to think for myself in high school. Secular humanism is not favored with pointers toward it in any public school. And it's strongly frowned upon in charter schools as well.

The gummint WANTS children to be as uninformed as possible. Uninformed adults are easier targets of propaganda--if it's on TV it MUST be true. I gave tv up years ago, thank goodness. And public media by and large spews what the government wants it to. "All the news--that is what Massa says it is that fits" is the motto of the New York Times. Jeff Freakin' Bezos owns The Washington Post, sure, find me some independently sourced "news" there.

That we have a self admitted criminal in the White House is not the cause of our problems. He is a symptom of our floundering about beneath a polluted haze. Voters are uninformed and misinformed and they've been taught to like it.

Only 1% of our population counts-- for their selfish and twisted interests rule us all. And all the rest of us mean less and less by the day. Three families own as much as the bottom 60% of our population. Modern Capitalism is destroying the planet beneath our feet and the sky above our heads. Rapidly.

Good King Wenceslas is a can't miss. Seems that he was truly a good king and is remembered in a Christmas carol.

"Truckin," nudge nudge, wink wink.

Perhaps I'll always be ambivalent about Mr Zimmerman. Talent and ability and songwriter extraordinaire, yet he doesn't always move me the right way. Must be a personal problem of mine.

Michael was the most talented member of the Monkees--for sure.

Always liked "Nashville Cats" a lot. Had no idea that The Spoonful did it!
I don't think he was! I got the two mixed and not I am covered in shame...and some gooie stuff from my hamburger!

The part of this tune that really grabs me is the "don't know" that overlays the 'regularly sung' "don't know" four times near and at the end of the song. I wish this high pitched part was louder but my hearing isn't improving with age.
