Daniel, you have this PPA added in Mint Software Sources right?
ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa

That PPA should update the driver manager with the newest available versions.

n any case it seems to be working but Mint Driver manger is updating VERY slow. While I wait I took these snap shots of the kids.":O}

I've always had to add that PPA if I want newer drivers.
The stable drivers Mint provides are usually older because they are super-stable.
Adding the PPA is a work-around to get any version you want to try. At your own risk of course.
That is why I posted the guide. Its kinda confusing if you want newer drives and Mint doesn't provide them from their own software sources.
Yay to freedom with software sources....

but none but the 340's will work. every other driver set limits me to 1900
But I gots some new pics for ya! ":O}

BTW I started with the 410's and failed my way backward to the 340'...which would not reinstall. Hard to go to my back up.

Sigh.. no pics for you today! I forgot to put them on my back-up drive before I restored.

Basically it said this might be due to a software conflict some where.

I'll be messing about with it some more. I loves me back ups yes I do! LOL

Where does mint put the background wallpapers?

I copy each new release's wallpapers to a common folder so I can shuffle though them all
in slide show mode.

Obviously I use to know, but now have spent hours looking to no avail.

We haven't forgotten about the pretty pictures now have we? ":O}

I have both Graphics-drivers and graphics-drivers (Sources) checked

Nope didn't forget about wallpapers.
I think there is a folder in your /home that hosts wallpapers if you want them all in one place.
but I like to use my own folder and just add it.

Just did a search and this website hosts the wallpapers and tells you where they are saved:

Ok, I "seem" to be set up for this as you are. did a new back up while I waited. So we have set up stable.
I'll try the 410's again and get back to you.

A while back I dragged my lazy ass though this. So I have all the other back grounds and rotate in slide show every single one of them.My folder also contains all my "artworks". Hey! Free beauty! ":O}
