I'm very glad that you are back on-line, and you get enough band width for movies too? Yaay! DSL has improved greatly since I tried it long ago, very good! Quoting Einstein danrok? Why not, he was one smart guy. Supposedly my phone co sports large bandspread for a reasonable charge. But with them it's always been "up to." Never "here is how slow reality is." Which is far more honest. What, I want honesty from money handling "people?" Good luck! Looks like Casey found the right place, very glad to hear it. Thank goodness I haven't touched booze and all illegal drugs for more than a quarter century(pot's legal now) but I want it not one bit. YMMV, I had it easy in South East Asia compared to many, many former GI's. Glad that at least some of them can get good help! I've received a lot of help from the VA, but unfortunately it is getting worse. And the monster in the Gold House will make it much worse. Can't believe a friend voted for it, err, I mean him. Too many Americans love punishment---well they're getting it now! Hope you are always safe from any flooding, Daniel. And all other Members too!
Power is a chancy thing out here. We seem to o dark around once a day. But as they are still out there at the pole coming in to our campground, I feel we can hope for better in the near future... I came on-line, saw Danrok's post and had to wait a hour for power to come back up to post my terribly witty reply! ":O} My advice for near future generations, Get mobile and stay mobile there will be lots of things you will want to avoid coming your way. Ironically, the note he wrote that on just sold for a not so modest price of $1.3m https://www.cbsnews.com/news/albert-einsteins-theory-of-happiness-1-3-million-auction-jerusalem/
That's probably more than he made in his lifetime... Here's one of my favorite E quotes. "God doesn't play dice with the Universe."
Glad to see you are back Daniel! I prayed for you and Patti and for your safety many times! Its great to hear those prayers were answered! I'm also thankful that your new trailer wasn't burned down because of heroic fire-fighters! I rarely ever get to meet on in person, but I do thank police men/women when I stop at Quick Trip. They get free drinks so I find them there often. Keep in touch! Did you notice we finally hit 300 guides!
300!!!? I should give you the summer off more often! I thank you for your prayers and your remembrance of Patti and me. all of you were kept close to me by way of my own prayers This has been a very rough patch for Patti and she's come thought for us like a champ. As I feel a calling to contemplation, for the most part, for me, this was just something new to look into. These short periods of difficulty and transition allow us to test ourselves and seek for new resolve in maintaining our own equanimity. As the I Ching is always telling me: "He who allows his spirit to be broken by adversity certainly has no success." My God how my broken spirit use to hate being told that! LOL But after decades of struggle this simple truth has become something for me to look into.":O} Thank you Boo and give my best to your wife and family. Lyrics Oh won't you stay Stay a while with your own ones Don't ever stray Stray so far from your own ones Cause the world is so cold Don't care nothing for your soul That you share with your own ones Don't rush away Rush away from your own ones Just one more day One more day with your own ones Cause the world is so cold Don't care nothing 'bout your soul That you share with your own ones There's a stranger And he's standing at your door Might be your best friend, might be your brother You may never know I'm going back Going back to my own ones Come back to talk Talk a while with my own ones Cause the world is so cold Don't care nothing 'bout your soul You share with your own ones Oh won't you stay One more day with your own ones Don't rush away Rush away from your own ones This old world is so cold, Don't care nothing for your soul You share with your own ones Written by Van Morrison • Copyright © Universal Music Publishing Group
I've loved his music since "Brown eyed girl" Van looks exactly like I have pictured Irish butchers. Yet is fit to sing with the angles. Want proof? Lyrics Beside the garden walls, We walk in haunts of ancient peace. At night we rest and go to sleep In haunts of ancient peace. The love and light we seek, The words we do not need to speak, Here in this wondrous way we keep These haunts of ancient peace. Let us go there again When we need some relief Oh, when I can't find my feet When I need rest and sleep. The Sunday bells they chime Around the countryside and towns A song of harmony and rhyme In haunts of ancient peace. The holy grail we seek On down by haunts of ancient peace. We see the new Jerusalem In haunts of ancient peace. Oh, when I can't find my feet Oh, when I need some relief One more time again. You know I want to go there one more time again. Be still in haunts of ancient peace. (Be still) Written by Van Morrison • Copyright © Universal Music Publishing Group
We live in a sacred world. we are touched by sacred hands are praised by sacred words. What is sacred leads us in our longings and sacred feet follow in our foot steps. the ten thousand thoughts can shut us away like a lock upon a door. Enter the sacred now! be whole in God once more.
booman posted 300 guides? Great thanks to a very impressive man! Very valuable posts, thank you Daniel! Dan is back under full steam, Yaaay!
Sorry. Between work, general family stuff, and issues with Sue, life has conspired to keep me from suffering boredom.
You have never been stingy with your time when you had time to spend. We all know that! i just really missed having someone to berate while I was away.". For fathers things can never be easy. But your a warrior born. You can trust that. Your on a a sacrificial path, you can trust that. Stay centered in the now and dwell in the mist of troubles as if they did not exist. When you first arrived here, the oceans were awaiting you. Air sought out your tiny lungs. Grains upon their stocks awaited your harvest. you grew without effort before you learned to make an effort.... Since before you arrived you've been in God's hands and the Great maker does not make mistakes. Once you realize that you quickly run out of things to pray for. As for what can be said at that point...the best I've heard thus far: "Make me worthy!"
A prayer that is on my lips every single day.... Side note, I know that an ellipsis is generally considered to be 3 dots. I generally use 4. So, a single dot is a period, and 3 dots is an ellipsis. What is 2? A wannabe? Or, rather than an inferior ellipsis, maybe it is a superior period? But what about 4 dots? Is 4 then arrogant?
I share fully in Georges flawed education, I didn't know either . What a fancy name for a run on period!
Looks like three dots (...) is necessary at times. Signifying and end of an idea, perhaps? Or saying that "I am moving on from one statement ... to another?" Oh the shame. I'm not truly certain what an "ellipsis" means. Herb Caen--a San Francisco columnist in the Chronicle was extremely fond of what he called three dot journalism.
I've always felt that an ... should have as many dot's as I want it to and mean whatever I want it to in the moment... In my view it's the only punctuation that liberates rather than confines the rules of punctuation. The ellipsis was thought by Patti to be a perfect triangle. I prefer as stated to leave it's exact meaning undefined. Sometimes I use it instead of stuttering, easier to type.
