Yay, lyrics in time with the record
Hoo boy, that's a flattering pic!
This is also from Imperial Bedroom, great LP or what?
I've been hanging on to Sloopy all my life!Gone baby gone, I remember most of these songs but not the bands:

Thanks George.
I offer this tender consolation. They are not gone. For the most part these good people went on to reform into most often better groups with a greater knowledge of the music they wanted to create.
But I have to admit a lot of these songs do seem to have reached a high place, not easy to surpass.
Never ask me to explain the vanity of women or the folly of men! LOLInterestingly a person who's path and mine crossed briefly many years ago seemed convinced that "Sloopy" referred to a Mexican woman. She was a Mexican didn't like the song at all.
Folly is the vanity of men. vanity is the folly of women.Good point, sir. Men have much vanity too.
A song that fits in with today's conversations well...
My favorite description of one who can not sing:I have no doubt that you can sing it better, after all, who the heck is he, anyway?
I remember the melody a little differently. Tsk!
