I just relized that I don't actually like Percy's take on "Try a little tenderness." But I've listened to this way beyond mere devotion":O}
Dang, I can't find the recent post in which you said, more or less, "The bass keeps me hanging during the song or toward the end of the song. Yet then the bass builds to a most satisfying resolution." Sorry, not an exact quote, but that was what I think you meant about one of your recent songs here on the long gone tunes show. My monitor has built in speakers. Avoid this at all costs. At the time it was the best 24" (?) monitor available along with the rest of the parts for this now two year old PC. And I didn't know better. Why, way back then I thought buying a Smart tv was SMART! The monitor's speakers are connected to the box along with the video by an HDMI cable. So I listen to the sound from the PC by using an HDMI cable. Or I can connect the monitor to inferior olde video with a whatchamacall it cable. So I get shirty video with hopefully (with the addition of external speakers) decent sound. Or good up to date video along with those lovable puny monitor speakers. Ooh, I know...I'll order a soundless new monitor the way God intended for at least $250, (along with good or at least decent speakers) that'll solve the problem. Sheeite. All this leads to the fact that I have no bass from the PC to hear. NONE. How's that for justice? Please, don't answer!
You need not spend all that much. Go on Ebay. I think you will surprised Or you could just make room for my old 60" monitor, you choose, either way you have to hear this song!! LOL.
This man floats about my diaper years, coming in and out of my hearing range. As the original Little Rascals gain my attention he was slowly fading. A Rhodes scholar and in a raciest country, a celebrated. talent. He sang to a different drummer As one might guess from looking at him he was quite an athlete as well. How did this imposing and powerful black man ever survive America land of the free?
I first came into awareness of her through old W.C. Fields movies. This lady was almost unique in her time. "A wayfairing hussy" I couldn't find a decent recording of her singing that would play for me...but this in some ways is better. The only woman who could play opposite W,C. Fields and get the most laughs...This is according to W.C.
You loved it, you know you did!! But you were just a kid, what did you know? ":O} Not the lyrics, because no one could understand chipmunk back then. Alvin's Harmonica Alvin and the Chipmunks Note: David Seville is D, Alvin is A, Simon is S, Theodore is T D:Alvin, put that harmonica down. A:Why? D:Because we're gonna sing, that's why A:Not again! D:Never mind. Now look fellas, this is a pretty song so let's try not to goof it up. Are you ready, Simon? S:Sure, let's go D:All set, Theodore? T:Hot dog, you bet! D:Are you ready, Alvin? Ready, Alvin? Alvin!! A:Aw, nuts! C:We sure like girls all kind of girls From Annie to Veronica We like them small or fat or tall A:I want to play my harmonica! D:Now cut that out C:And everyone to get a kiss We take them through for popcorn Because they always fall in love A:When I play my harmonicorn (sic)! D:Alvin!! D:Will you put that thing down and sing? A:OK! C:We sure like girls all kind of girls From Annie to Veronica We like them small or fat or tall A:I'm gonna play my harmonica!! D:All right, Alvin. Make a fool of yourself. Play the harmonica After a few bars of harmonica music, the Chipmunks suddenly burst out with "Cha-cha-cha!" D:Now wait a minute, you guys! Alvin, you're goofing it all up! This was a pretty song, it's not supposed to be a- C:Cha-cha-cha! (continue to "cha-cha-cha" while David Seville speaks) D:Now look what you did! You got them all cha-chaing and singing and wrecking the song! Theodore...Simon...orchestra will you cut that out?! Alvin put that harmonica down! Alvin! Alvin! (fades)
turns out they didn't have all that much to say...unless your named Veronica. Then you find out that your not all that special...rather a cruel song..even for Chipmunks, a terrible vicious breed! ":O}
A true American Hero! I think he moved to France for quite a few years, a very smart move. Americans can be so full of hate, maybe we are the world champs?
Aretha is a phenomenon and I love her dearly. Doesn't matter how much weight she carries, she is amazing!
If you like these, I'll give you a little spiel on the performers: Here's a hint: one of those performers has collaborated [twice] with Carlos Santana
