    MULLIGAN I SAY!

    On my arch machine I recently updated the full system. When I try to run pretty much anything I either don't get a window at all OR steam starts up with the login screen then nothing.

    I think it's wine.... It may also be a graphics driver.

    When I try to start normal steam I get a popup that says "glxChooseVisual Failed".

    Idea's?

    What do you mean by normal Steam? Would that be Linux Steam?

    In any case, the only way to have any clue what is going on is to check what was updated. So the pacman log is vital to figuring this out. /var/log/pacman.log

    What graphics card do you have, and what driver do you use?

    That is why i call them:

    WinSteam = Windows Steam
