That album, Body and Soul, is a sonic masterpiece. It also has an interesting recording history. Joe wanted to record something that didn't use overdubs and multi-tracking to achieve what he wanted, and settled on recording live, all players playing together, multi-miked, in an old stone Masonic hall in NYC. The results were insanely good, from an audiophile POV.

Back in my high-end audiophile days, it was one of my reference records for testing gear.

You can listen to all the tracks on YouTube; do it to see what I'm talking about. Take some time to listen to it from beginning to end, you won't regret it.

I didn't know it was an all-live recording. Makes you wanna go Hmm.
