I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with Cinnamon desktop.- Tried 16.04 LTS but no drivers for my ATI card so i have to downgrade. Maybe once i change my motherboard cpu ram and video card im going to try Mint. My husband was using Mint like 3 years ago and loved it.- BTW I decided on APU a68 7400 + a68 motherboard gigabyte + 8 gb ram kingstone fury And the video card will be MSI GT710 Nvidia 2GB DDR3 All that i can afford with my humble budget $4600 (argentinian pesos) PS: the motherboard has video on board but not nvidia.-
Hi again! If English is your second language, I must say your command of it is complete! I would have never guessed... If it isn't your second language...How awkward for me! ":O} I seems I post this bit of information around once a month. Usually the person I'm trying to help is honestly in much worse shape than a simple update gone a stray. AMD cards can be a real pain to get up and running in Linux, not always but often. Whereas Nvidia makes a clear and these days consistent effort to support all their cards with Linux drivers. I Haven't used Ubuntu in a while but in Mint, three button presses will install the recommended Nvidia drives or allow you to choose from all the nivida drivers that will work with your particular card... So this is me "lightly" recommending you stay with your choice of Nvidia. But I promise not to cry if you find a killer deal on an AMD and feel up to any difficulties you might encounter. There are several people here that I'm convinced could install a computer in my rear teeth. So either way I harbor hopes of seeing more of you in the forums. Were really just getting started....You rchance to be a forums founder! LOL And again, Welcome
