The Metro series takes place in Moscow after a global nuclear holocaust in 2013. Survivors now live in underground subway tunnels call Metro. But you are not the only ones lurking in the dark. Fight against Nazi soldiers, mutated monsters and carefully explore the frozen surface. Many scenes are based on survival wave-based ride-along action sequences. Be careful to not waste any ammo, it is hard to find in the Metro.

I'm playing through the Metro series starting with 2033. I've never finished the other two but only tested Last Light. If I remember correctly, Last Light and Exodus both have Linux versions on Steam. Unfortunately I own 2003 and Last Light on GOG, so no Linux versions for me. Metro 2033 ran perfectly with all settings on max in Proton. There was only one bug I noticed, after reloading the pistol, you can't aim down the sites unless you switch weapons. That is about it!

Really love these games. Wonderful atmosphere. If you have the Redux versions, then you can choose between Survival or Spartan mode. Spartan is ideal if you want more of a shooter experience, while Survival is better if you want supplies to be more scarce and give more of a survival/horror feeling instead of plain shooter.

I always play on Survival, and for difficulty I pick Ranger Hardcore. Ranger disables the HUD, and Hardcore makes you die very quickly. But the same applies to enemies. It gives the game a more scary horror element, and forces you to go for stealth, which I really enjoy.

I'm finally playing through Last Light and I love it! I play on Survival as well... Spartan seems too difficult when I read the description. But Survival can be too easy in certain areas. At least I am progressing!

Can't wait to play Metro Exodus!!! And it has a Linux version right?
  3. Daerandin
Yes, Exodus has a Linux version on Steam. GOG does not have the Linux versions for some reason.

I've never understood that either, so I'm glad I picked up Exodus on Steam. Can't wait to play it. I think we are at the end of Dying Light...

Do you have The Following DLC for Dying Light? I recommend playing that too as it continues the story, and lets you drive around in a buggy.

Yup, we played through the DLC "The Following" until we basically finished the game. We had to finish singleplayer, so we just quit. LOVE Dying Light! Might be one of my favorite zombie/parkour games ever!
