I have been having an lockup system freeze 1 to 2 times a day. My temps seem fine and all that.
I did not have that issue with Mint 14. In 14 and 15 I used the cinnamon versions.
I found a couple of post on the internet with close to the same issue.
Is there a log or test so that maybe I can see what is wrong?

As Mint 15's number one fan I want to apologize for her misbehavior. unfortunately my Mint 15 Box is down...(new CPU is on the way) So I can't even offer to try and duplicate this for you. Have you a link(s) to the posts outlining the problem?

Try looking at your system settings, there should be a log in there somewhere.
There are always logs, but finding them isn't always obvious...

Also, did you upgrade to Mint 15 or did a fresh install?

I will try to find those links. Hard to find links on this phone.
I did a fresh install. I love my AMD rig but I wonder if Intel does better.

Maybe Daniel can look for us. He's probably sitting at his Mint 15 as we speak!

I'm extremely happy with my AMD CPU and GeForce 550 Ti setup with a Samsung SSD drive!
Mint is super fast and games are running GREAT!

I have not found the links. I tried several search terms and not coming up. Maybe I dreamed it.
But I think I can say a Mint problem is rare.
Whatever it is it didn't happen in Mint 14. Even so, that does not rule out a hardware issue cropping up.
Over the years I mostly favor AMD and Radeon. But in Windows I have had issues with games as I suspect they were developed on Intel and NVidia. And Linux I don't think cares either way.

I tried doing some google searching and couldn't find anything. there is always command line.
Are you familiar with the Terminal?

Most game are made on a Windows PC, but if they want it to be native to Linux, they need to have an engine that compiles for Unix. Some engines do it already like Unity.
But when it comes to drivers, Nvidia is there! I've heard over and over that AMD drivers are not so good and cause a lot of problems in games.

I'm sorry but it will be at lest a week before I can get my box back up, on my wifes machine right now, good for the Internet when I can get her off it... I've heard over and over again that AMD card drivers are not nearly as good as nvidia, but have no personal experience...and I may be way out of date with this info.

I don't know much about terminal. I want to learn about it. I did some to install a game and a program. I only know that the instructions asked for it.

I bought a motherboard with built-in Radeon. I couldn't even get the AMD-native drivers to load. Installed an nVidia card and was rockin' in about 15 minutes.
