    this controller is pretty cool, I can even browse the internet with it.
    You would probably need an "on screen" keyboard to type, which of course Linux has, but otherwise installing and launching games would be easy too.

    Naw, just the ones that interest you. In the past I'd spend more time messing with getting a controller to work than actually using it. If that's changed, then I'm definitely interested ...when the coin arrives.":O}

    So the Playstation controller reduces your pain?
    I'll look for that controller with USB and PC support. Maybe I'll find one that has rubber padding too.
    Do you use the analog sticks too?

    This Logitech F310 looks like the controller to get.
    I did some research and people are getting positive results with Ubuntu.
    No installation, no drivers, no configuration.
    Just make sure to set the switch on the back to "X"

    Well thank you very much Boo! Yes The thumbs up position of the PS3 greatly reduces or most the time eliminates the wrist pain I get using track ball or mouse. They are fine for forums, but I guess the intensive use of keyboard and mouse is to much strain on them.

    it may be a while, stretched petty thin at the moment, but it's definitely on my hit list....and it's booked marked! ":O}

    Maybe you get wrist pain because of the intense game-play causing muscle tension!
    Or maybe you are that guy who pounds on the keyboard when you die... that pounding can cause wrist pain :D

    I have a history of Gangleons in my wrists had three surgeries over the years back when I was a Welding, say 25 years ago. So I have to watch them, to much irritation and new Ganglion starts going in my wrist joins and they start to stiffen up until I need a surgery to remove them again.

    you just saved me a surgery! ":O}

    ( I do like the image of me pounding on my keyboard and screaming into my totally deaf monitor...it seems to capture real life so completely! ":O}

    I welded mostly in Seattle Ship yard for Lockhead. I helped build LSD landing craft. I really liked it until Lockhead screwed the pooch with the US navy by bragging publicly how they had Screwed Uncle Sam... Can you imagine anything dumber? Then I work a small fab shop for a time, then Welding died for 20 years here in Seattle. I was certified in Tig, Mig, Duel shield and Stick. I also had Stick Pipe certs.

    You know, I remember you saying something about Welding in the past.
    Sounds like a pretty intense job back then.
    Have you done any hobby welding since?

    Naw haven't touched it in 25 years. Welding machines and the gear needed comes at a pretty price, that's before you buy your materials...an expensive undertaking for an unemployed welder.":O}

    That makes sense.
    I'm glad I got a degree in Art even though I'll never use it for professional work.
    Art can be used anywhere for the rest of my life.
