Have any of you heard of this smart-dumb phone?

I miss my flip phone from 2011... at the same time my Galaxy A51 has some great games, amazing cameras and fast for my needs.
But it's amazing there is still a demand for flip phones and the simplicity they offer. Not to mention it runs Android apps without needing Android OS.

Coincidentally, I spotted an article about this earlier today. I had a Nokia N900 in 2010, which ran on Maemo 5, which I suppose is Sailfish's precursor: despite the somewhat meh hardware specs, it was actually quite decent to use.

There's a lot to like about this - it seems to me to be a good idea for a travel phone, especially when travelling to those places that like to riffle through devices at customs.

All that being said, it kinda feels that C= haven't learned anything from their bankruptcy 30-odd years ago: $500 can buy a Samsung Galaxy A57, Google Pixel 10a, or a base model iPhone 15. Pricing an entry level product to compete with high midrange products is never a winning formula.

Agreed, the cost is definitely a problem. They are selling this as nostalgia-bait, I think; people who are old enough to have a soft spot in their hearts for the Commodore brand and the C= logo, appreciate the flip-phone aesthetic and have enough money to be able to spend on a device like this.

That's...a pretty small market, IMO.

Nostalgia-bait!! I love that! Guess this phone isn't meant for profit...
Cool idea though, kinda like bringing back the arcade experience but with a Raspberry Pi running the games.
