Fedora...folding, not!

Click Power Off in Fedora and you should get a "Standby" or "sleep" option

I'm saving this in my E-mail until I get a chance to re-boot to Fedora, been transferring my Music files in three different formats to ...well to every hard drive I have!! ":O}

No, if you just click 'Power Off', you can 'Power Off', 'Restart', or 'Cancel'. You have to press and hold the 'Alt' key, then the 'Power Off' option will change to 'Suspend'.

Yeah that what I was gunna say...except the part about just guessing, really, just pulling it right out of your ass that you can hit Alt THEN, "power off", just magically turns into a fairy princess that sleeps at our feet at last...except for that part I was gunna say that...":O}

Yeah, there have been a LOT of complaints about that. Like "And I'm supposed to know that how, exactly?"

There's a gnome-shell extension that adds an explicit 'suspend' option to the menu. I don't remember what it's called right at the moment (haven't installed it yet).

Tablets are ruining my life!

Have you actually used one yet?
Smart phones and tablets are really just little toy computers. Mostly toys...
You can't really be productive on those things because they are so frustrating.
Trying to type a message or browse a website is so frustrating when I can do it 10 times faster on a computer.
I they were supposed to be easy-to-use?
I find myself getting really frustrated because its so easy-to-use that I can't get anything done

While back I read a guy (sorry don't remember who) who made the excellent point that some times things are the way they are because they have reached their ultimate expression. He gave the wheel as and example. I would add the fork and spoon.

The mouse and keyboard both receive a lot of design attention and that's not a bad thing...yet they remain easily recognizable as a mouse/trackball and keyboard.

I find that I really really like a verity of desktops, but they all have tool bars I can adjust and Menus I can modify and
cling to what is simple and what is obvious and easy... when things depart from this I stat looking at another Destro...

I do really good with new interfaces. It has to be something about my ability to remember visual elements.
Which makes me good at being an admin.
So when there is a new interface for a program or operating system, I become familiar with it pretty easily.
I even learned how to use Windows 8.
But the interface for tablets and phones is really good, the tool to interact is really bad.

I love the fact that I can use my finger instead of a mouse, but nothing replaces the keyboard for me.... it is so functional and I'm extremely fast on it, nothing can replace that for now. I'm sure some day there will be a better input device for words... like voice commands, but even then, I think I can type faster and more accurately than I can talk.
