So far I'm impressed with the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 CPU Cooler over the CoolMaster HSF.with duel fans. The radiator is rather intimating when you fist see it bur it slides in at the top of the case with duel fans pushing air thru the radiator and out of the case. The pump is small and sits on top of the CPU and there is a lot of room where there definitely was not with the HSF. Insides look a lot cleaner w/o that huge heatsink smack in the middle.The drop in temps is not impressive but definitely adequate.4 stars
Awesome! I'm Glad its working out. I continue to use the old tried-n-true heatsink-n-fans to cool my cases. But its nice to hear that Watercooling is still consistent when you need it.
Making the decision to go with water cooling was the hardest part-after that everything went very smooth. I wish I had done it years ago. That being said, I wouldn't have done it the old way.The completely enclosed unit took away some of the fear factor and aloud me to bite the bullet.The rigs I build in the future will be water cooled. It was actually easier to install than the HSF.-and not that expensive.

See, that's exactly the opposite of me. For me, the joy is in the discovery. But then again, I'm widely acknowledged to be a bit less than clinically sane. However, you are exactly the kind of person the kits are built for; you want a bit more performance (or a bit less noise), and you don't want to spend weeks figuring out how to do it, you just want it to work. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that; we all have different interests. So I'm happy that you've found a solution that works well for you.
I am acknowledged as slightly warped as well. I have always been obsessed, over the years, with the idea of water pooling in the bottom of the case and roman candles shooting out the top. I even dreamed about it once! But once I had temps I couldn't tolerate it's time to look for a solution. The enclosed unit seemed the best idea-and was. (I swear that my computer seems happier running the new cooler!) Next time I'll look into building my own-maybe!
Unseen forces are coming to your aid! Aidan supplied me with a set of benchmark for Linux,when I first built this box, a rather complete set of them, but a bit to advanced for me to use. I've contacted Aidan and Asked if he can resupply them for us if he can. Aidan can get really busy so it may be a while.
If you use playonlinux there are two video card bench marks. Furmarks and fluidmark. they are offered in the first category of POL In package manager (Main Menu) search for i7z, great temp and cpu usage app.
