The little time I've had, I've been spending with Mount and Blade Warband. Slowly acquiring more land to support a growing army.

Wow, really? I want to play Watch Dogs! Too stinking expensive right now.
I'll probably pick it up in a few years when they "hype" is over.

Hey Daerandin and booman! Long time no talk mates :) I'm not gone. I may have taken a break myself after a crazy full time job schedule so I've been chilling out playing Final Fantasy XIV and some other games. I also got myself a 3DS XL so... I've been busy with it myself :]

I gotta say, Mount and Blade Warband is a fantastic game. I love its mechanics, it's hard not to get immersed when you go 1vs1.

Hey Allen, glad to hear you are still around. Its good to be working too!
I just tested Tomb Raider 2013 and it is absolutely beautiful even with Direct X 9
Runs almost flawlessly in PlayOnLinux with Wine 1.6.2

I really really gave Mount and Blade a fair chance and just got frustrated.
I even hired a small group of fighters and they all die. There is some kind of learning curve because I was having a hard time killing enemies and got tired of strafing back-n-forth on a horse.

Nice to see you posting again, allenskd.

I expect to have more time in the weeks ahead so I can finally get back to playing games more regularly again as well as doing more guides.

Mount and Blade is pretty good, once you get the hang of it. Currently I have an army of 30-60 soldiers, it varies a bit as I am also training troops for my castle. I also have a hard time maintaining my army at the ideal capacity since I am constantly fighting to defend the kingdom I have sword allegiance to.

Booman, you have to pick your battles early on. Fight smaller bands until you can promote troops, then move on to stronger bands bandits and the like.

    That figures...
I'm starting to figure out my problem...
I like to get right into a story and start solving quests and puzzles meanwhile hacking down enemies. For some reason managing troops, money, towns, governments, etc. start to bore me. :(
Maybe its the waiting time? I don't know...
I like Rollercoaster Tycoon games but can't stand Warcraft, Starcraft, 0AD, etc
I like more cinamatic action where you get right into it.
But I do like puzzle games and hidden treasure games too. They are slow as well, but less waiting.

How is Shadowrun Returns? I love the graphical style, but I'm too impatient with turn-based fighting.

    Now I'm playing:
    • World of Tanks
    • Rune Classic

I haven't played it a lot. I have to finish my 2nd playthrough of TW2 and BG2 EE before I move down the list.

    Two Worlds 2?
How is that? I've wanted to purchase it from a bundle here or there, but never have. Looks amazing but reviews say its not all that great.

I will not even go into all the games I have bought during sales and not yet gotten around to playing.... far too many.

I actually played through Gothic since I did the guide for it. It's been years since I last played it and I have forgotten just how awesome a game it is. Now that I started, I can't stop. So I will start playing Gothic 2 now, which is the brightest gem in the Gothic series, at least in my opinion.

Isn't that fun? Testing a game for a guide and then getting hooked on it?
That is how I replayed Fallout 3
Some game I'm not that interested in and others I would like to play again.
Then I get stuck playing an entire game because I remember how fun it was the first time.

I made a huge mistake today, I bought Super Hexagon on Steam. I normally have no interest in games of this kind, but I have been playing it for four hours! Even though I keep dying all the time, I can't seem to stop.

Now you are just being evil, I do want to do other things that be addicted to these games, haha. I made it past 60 seconds on the first two levels in Super Hexagon, working on the third level. 21 seconds is as far as I've made it on level 3 so far, after what is most likely well over 1000 attempts.

Now if I could pick a game that would definitely cause seizures, that would be Super Hexagon!
    What were you thinking?

Actually shatter look waaay more fun than Super Hexagon, but its ironic all the 3D backgrounds and yet you are playing a 2D game.
