hello booman yes I installed vcrun2015. but the game is still crashing. here is the debug. Hope you understand it cause its Chinese for me. Lorena
I looks like the game is having a problem with MSVCR110 and Dot Net Framework 4.0 Are you running ABZU in a 64-bit virtual drive?
Ok, you installed dotnet45 which "should" run in a 64-bit virtual drive. Guess you could install dotnet46? Try downloading a newer version of Wine and trying it: Wine 3.4
I tried with new wine 3.4 and change it windows xp to windows 7 (on wine setup). this is what i got in debug. BTW how do I install 46?
You may want to try a staging version as well. Steam? I thought you had the GOG version of ABZU... Some of the same errors are still there in the log. Exactly how far do you get when trying to play ABZU? Does it launch at all?
Do you know how to manually add overrides in Wine configuration? You need to add the following: Launch PlayOnLinux Select ABZU Click Configure Wine Tab Wine Configuration Libraries Tab Click the drop-down menu look for the following libraries msxml3 (native, builtin) msvcp140 (native) openal32 (native, builtin) ucrtbase (native) vcruntime140 (native) Click OK and Close Wine Configuration
ok ill try the stagging version and add all those things. Is from gog not from steam. im sure cause the interface to install is same as all my other gog games. plus my husband bought it from there
btw there is no stagging version for 3.4 the newest stagging is 2.21 I changed wine for 2.21 stagging and tried to run the game on debug. crashed at launch and gave me an error that took me to this website https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...he-net-framework-version-and-platform-support Now Im going to set it back to 3.4 and install all those things you told me
ok I installed all those libraries you listed and used wine 3.4 when i try launching the game it gives me this on screen
I haven't tested 3.4-staging yet, but you can get it here from Lutris: https://lutris.net/files/runners/ Just download the wine-staging-3.4-x86_64.tar.gz Extract it to your Wine 64-bit folder here: /home/lorena/.PlayOnLinux/wine/amd64 I think that is the exact location. Then close PlayOnLinux and re-launch. Now you can select Wine 3.4-staging
Ok, this is bad because that means ABZU already installed vcrun2015 before we had a chance to. Is this the Steam version or GOG version? You will have to create a brand new ABZU 64-bit virtual drive and install all the libraries again. This time install vcrun2015 manually before running the game. This way ABZU will see that vcrun2015 is already installed and won't try to install it.
Really? I dont know what to do now. I did so many things that im dizzy now. btw i got the stagging 3.4 and my user name is not lorena (is fleetwood ) but i get what you are traying to say. Anyway im dizzy after all the do and do not. hahhahaha. please can you lead me? I know i must create a new vitual and select 3.4 wine but what libraries should i pick when i do the fresh install? BTW WE MUST DO A GUIDE FOR THIS ASAP - I know many players who want to play this game on linux but dont know how to make it work
Yes, this is exactly why I do step-by-step guides. It can be painful trying to test a game with all of these steps. First I need to know if its a Steam game or a GOG game... this way we can back it up.
its gog version here is the screenshot when i install again just to show you. and yes i could see that THE GAME INSTALLS THE VCRUN2015 DURING THE INSTALLATION PROCESS.
Damn no more time I must go to work. please leave me here a step by step if you can. or any direction on how to do it all over again from cero. what i noticed is that when you install a new game on playonlinux FIRST YOU PICK THE WINE VERSION and after that YOU CAN PICK THE VIRTUAL DRIVE (32/64). So I cant pick the wine 3.4 for 64 cause only 32 wines are listed. I hope I explained it right
Ah that is good. Ok, you don't have to install the game again if you don't want to. GOG games are always installed in a "GOG Games" folder in the virtual drive. So you can drag-n-drop it to your Desktop instead of installing it again. But I will send you the step-by-step for installing it from scratch.
maybe i can send you the game? torrent or something but after all this I would love to make the guide with your help. and post it for all the people who is desperate to play this game. just check on steam and you will see . everybody asking for linux port
That is up to you. Do you have a gmail? Google Drive is really simple when it comes to sharing files.
