Yes moved cables try to use my Denon S500bt As connection hub. Naturally every thing works except PC sound! I'm stuck. I'm going back to using my new Samsung Samsung AU8000 65" Crystal 4K UHD Smart TV I'm beginning to think they may not be compatable
on the darker side..My new monitor not only can;t seem to play audio from my receiver while using my PC. it can't even platy audio from it's own tv speakers and audio I tested with my PS4 and Roko media player and both worked fine, tv speakers
This is looking more and more like a fault in either the cabling or the amplifier rather than the computer setup. Or maybe a faulty input or output jack on the amplifier that's intermittent? An audio jack on the cabling not making contact properly?
I have to say that I'm very impressed with Samsung's self diagnostic.:: It test the health of any HDMI cable connected to it Still possible, but evey other input carries sound. I can't swap the computers ioutput to check it due to it's single output and it's display port. But tried all inputs on the tv. they are inter changeable for my PS$ and Roku
Daniel, if you plug a headset directly into the audio output on the mainboard [don't plug in the receiver] do you get sound in the headset? You can use anything for this test, like earbuds for your cellphone or a proper set of headphones.
Found them in underwear draw...just kidding":O} I plunged into the jack on the front of PC Odd result: I can hear the onboard sound test left and right headphone. But still no music from Rhythm box or the forums still get nothing from my Intel audio/video chip
For no reason at all it just started playing 5.1 in 5.1 sounds really good! I wish I could believe that this in going to last.?

Update. As expected sound took a walk on me again. But have another "Clue" As I regained sound for several hour AFTER I tried your suggestion with the head phones., I tried it again. This time I included the receiver. But as I pulled the cord on headphone jack I noticed that the tip was missing. I broke out my supply of tiny tiny screw drivers and fished around inside the Receivers input socket. and managed to pull it back out. Convinced The problem had at last found both cause and solution. I was a little less than happy when silence once again dominated my music. It's beging to look like a trip to a repair shop, which just so unsatisfying a way to resolve any computer issue.
This sounds more like the intermittent problem cause; I was wondering if there was something faulty in a jack or socket that was causing a poor connection.
Forgot to mention that I retested the PC with my head phones, (Now broke at the tip) And music played rather perfectly if I do say so myself.:O} It works because it's a small head-jack and it was an adaptor to large size for my Receiver that broke.. So line straight out of PC is fine. Out of my Recover intermittent, when it works it works perfectly no noise no static. So what could cause it to play only intermittently? All ,i know is that shutting my PC down loses the connection. And that the connection returns without a noticeable cause. We know that when I engage the head set it opens a second "Device" and that device is analog rather than digital. What do you think...Is something broken or am I still screwed up in my settings?
I think it's time to wake up Chris - I'm out of ideas. At least we can be fairly sure it's not the OS installation.
Guys, I've been watching, and I'm just confused as hell. Daniel, Can you do me a favor and draw me a picture of how your systems are connected? Computer, PS4, XBox, Monitor, stereo?
