First of all, I just have to say that where I used to live I didn't have access to high speed internet, and speed seemed to vary quite a bit. I was renting in a rather old house and the house owner had not set up proper internet availability. I had to make do with with speeds varying between 2-4 Mpbs. If a Steam download could reach 600 kb/s, that was a big deal.
Now in my new apartment, I have a 50 Mbps line. Steam downloads average on 5,5 mb/s. This was a completely new experience for me.
I realize this may sound odd to people used to high speed internet, but for me it was a brand new experience. I will probably be downloading large files just to watch the speed
