Daerandin. How well schooled are you with UFI settings? Me and Boo have been trying to get a UFI boot, but so far it either fails or falls back to a BIOS boot, can you lend us a hand? https://gamersonlinux.com/forum/threads/i-have-but-one-persistent-problem-in-mint.3772/#post-32783
I watched your video, very nicely designed. But does it really have but two USB inputs, Only if your sure she won't need more later?.
Two USB inputs are nowhere near enough, but most Mini-ITX motherboards have much more. So my plan was that the two inputs built into the case would be used for stuff that is frequently plugged and unplugged, and then I can either connect the other stuff directly to the motherboard, or buy some kind of USB expander. This is exactly why I am excited to build this, it requires me to be a little creative. Now I just wait for GPU prices to normalize, I just hope that will not take more than a year.
I love a new build! This one of yours looks like a lot of fun with a midget computer at the end of it. Does your wife know it's on the way? I mention this only because you must wait on the price of Vid cards to go down. Some wives, by no means all wives, find waiting to be rather difficult..
My wife does not mind having a laptop, in fact she was originally opposed to this idea. I had to convince her it would be economical over time. Instead of needing to buy a whole new laptop when it becomes too old, I can just replace components. Besides, I will primarily be doing this for my own sake. I am excited to build this system. I still don't know why I got so excited for this, probably because of the novelty of it, I've never built anything but your everyday normal desktop.
I just SO know that your talking about. I realized my wife needed a computer suspiciously near to the time I decided I needed a back up box. Hey at lest I built the box SHE needed rather than the box I wanted.":O}
Nice looking case and build Daerandin! I built one like this for my Dad about 8 years ago and its still running nice. Small and compact, but can easily be upgraded in the future.
