    It was Dan Hartman, who worked a lot with Edgar Winter, wrote "Free Ride" and many other tunes, good guitarist, too. Hall and Oates recorded this song on an album of covers that they did, well after their peak.

    I had the Edgar Winter "White Trash" LP on a cassette when I was grooving in the former Republic of South Viet-Nam." Loved "Save Our Planet." This song helped me stay alive in that temple of death. Not that I was a combat action hero--very far from it. Thankfully. TBH, I know nothing about Dan Hartman.

    He certainly occupies one of the highest pinnacles in guitar and music history.

    Yeah, that was before Dan Hartman played with Edgar Winter. Rick Derringer played guitar on that album.

    Professor of Rock talks about a very justly famous song.

    Arrgh. I don't like this guy. No hair and rock don't go together in my prejudiced world of music. Have long hair to this very day. Yet the song is one of the very best there is, imho.

    Getting hard to keep up with you guys!

    She should help me catch up... God loves the amateur.":O}

    It just kills me when artists give their best on the street and no one even slows their walk in recognition of what they were so freely given. This is how true art dies.
