ABZU is definitely a Direct X 11 game. So if I can get DXVK running in PlayOnLinux, then maybe it will run...

I spent an hour on it this morning and still didn't work. I'm gathering notes on how to run Vulkan but its just not working in PlayOnLinux... yet Honestly, Vulkan and Wine are very brand new and its only a matter of time when it starts running without any work-arounds or hacks. Right now I have to do an extra 10 steps just for Vulkan to run. But without it, Direct X 11 games like ABZU won't run.
I still haven't given up on ABZU Now its just a waiting game to see if Wine developers add more compatibility for DXVK Or maybe someone will patch Wine for us and it will magically work. I'm going to try the work-arounds again because I want to test a few other games as well. It sucks because none of the walkthroughs are very clear. Which is why I do step-by-step guides. Just to make sure every step is there.
I gave ABZU another try in Lutris.... but so far its not working. I can't even see a debug yet, but its nice that Lutris installs DXVK for you.
Honestly its a simple checkbox, behind-the-scenes I have no idea what it does. You can even select a version of DXVK, but I am still unable to play Warframe or ABZU
oh gosh i need to put out a guide for warframe then figure out how to get it working in playonlinux because i got it working on lutris. yeah ABZU i can't get working either i have tried multiple times. I'm almost thinking of buying the steam version just to see if it works but then i dont know becuase GOG should work it shouldn't matter like you said
I finally got DXVK to run and now testing ABZU It still crashes, so I'm working on research why its still crashing.
Hello guys How are you doing. Finally I was able to play the game BUT.... On windows. My HD crashed (months ago) and I was using my sons HD with windows. I bought the steam version and played it. Anyway Im back on Linux Mint since yesterday (I was able to buy a new HD). Will be great to have a guide to install on linux (from playonlinux or from that new proton thing on steam). To be honest I dont understand much about it yet. But ABZU is not one of the working games.
Sorry you had to play it in Windows. I did so many tests and tried so many different things and it refused to launch. I never saw an intro movie or menu. So frustrating because its DRM free. I may try it again one day when Wine someone else has some success with it.

Interesting, so even with Proton and bundled DXVK it still doesn't work. The first person I inquired about ABZU said the Steam version was working, but he was using Wine and DXVK. Not sure what the difference is?
ABZU is free on Epic store right now: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/collection/free-game-collection Sign up and get it for free. I'm going to test it in PlayOnLinux to see if it runs. Apparently the Steam version runs fine, but not the GOG version.
