    Aw shucks, I don't wish to rain on your parade Dan but I dislike Ms Harris's version of "Waterfall." She barely ever disappoints yet this just doesn't float me boat.

    Youtube messing up is bad news. Just for the heck of it maybe clearing your browser's history might help?

    And why not this is an old most fave:

    I don't have a music collection. Does this mean I'm strange? Possibly.

    Let me ask you if your getting deep bass. Without the bass this song really suffers.

    Mind your answer I send copies of all our posts to Emmylou

    Re: "Waterfall." Shazam, Dan. The lowest "voice" I can hear in this song is the kick drum. At this hour as high volume as I can neighborly use reveals some thing happening at roughly 2:42 in the bass zone. Maybe I'm missing it, but please don't ask me to listen to this song again. There's a dischord or disharmony that simply grabs me the wrong way. I dislike it.

    This song may actually define "Funk."

    One of my most favorites of all time. Maybe because it marked my "safe" return from Viet-Nam.
    I've posted this more than once. My bad. Apologies, I simply love this song.

    I didn't see much in it either, until I had speakers of sufficient bass.
    More than any song I can think of this song requires a deep bass to appreciate.
    Have you room for a Sub woofer, a small one?

    If you had bass you wouldn't need high volume.
    Maybe God just doesn't want you to enjoy music?
    Or maybe he wants you to get a bass speaker?

    I've never been all that good at seeing what God wants.":O}

    I hear a goodly amount of bass from these new Bose speakers. They have an "s" shaped "viaduct" inside that handles the low frequencies very well. For instance the bass in the Pat Benatar song recently posted has tons of bass. I daren't listen to it loudly, especially at this hour.

    Dunno about getting a ""subwoofer."" I already have a bass amplifier that has a genuine subwoofer---that's 15 inches of soul power (oh how I wish I could genuinely play bass like that.)
    I've learned some complicated James Jamerson bass songs. Can NOT play them with a feeling close to the originals.

    Maybe I'm too attached to the first version of Jimi Hendrix's "Waterfall?"

    Neil Young struck me with how plain "speaking" and honest he can be. Surely there are other musicians that do the same thing? But I can't think of any at the moment. That's gotta be my own short-sightedness. Or is it?

    The world seems full of stuff like this. I've never been in a position to run any of it down.
    Yet it seems to easy to just dismiss it all. So I guess I've fallen into a wait and see position.

    Fortunately I don't have anything invested either way.

    Song has a bit of a bounce and she can warble real fine.
    I like tunes with a bounce that warble like a mother does.

    If not for you Por Por I'd have missed her altogether and my light would shine just a bit less brightly.

    So I thank you both!

    (But your right, they did try to violin the opening to death, but she overcomes.":O}
