I didn't know that Sting's song was about the Disappeared in Chile.
Watched "Pearl Button" last night. It's about Chile. Yegods, that Pinochet was a piece of work. But what was even better is that the USA supported that bahstage to the hub nuts. If Kissinger doesn't twist in hell for eternity...who will?

We lose artist all the time, like the rest of us everyone of them will go. But it troubles the soul to see them go young in the mist of their living and creating.
In 1986 we suffered such a loss. Though a true artist that wasn't what we came to know him for.
Ronald McNair was a physicist. But he took his music everywhere he went.
"In the summer of 1959 at age 9 he refused to leave the segregated "Lake city Public Library" in South Carolina without being allowed to check out his books. Yes Ron was black. After The police and his mom were called, He was allowed to borrow books from the library which now bears his name.
Ron was a 6th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
On Jan.28 1986 he took his saxophone to the stars. He had with him a composition he had written with the composer Jean-Michel Jarre.
First Ron would play and record the piece so high above this world
Then download it to Jarre who would then incorporate it into Jarre's concert in Houston.
But Challenger exploded and his ashes scattered nine miles above the Atlantic Ocean.
This is Ron's piece. This is his collaborator, playing the music he wrote with Ron.

I read long ago that John Lennon was fascinated by "A Whiter Shade of Pale" and played it over and over in his Paisley painted Rolls. The song STILL grabs my attention, it's just one of the greats!

MR Bow Jangles, AKa Bill Robertson...he danced close to my heart.
What you see is pure ad lib, he would just make it up as he went along. Is why he almost never rehearse anything. But here's the thing. When he danced with sherily Temple they did not rehearse, the little moppet just followed along, even improvising her self when she took the lead.
Many say he was the best that ever was.

Jean Kelly later puts on weight and looks like a Boxer and dances like a there's no tomorrow. I had never seem NO# 1 before,but I can't quibble with their placement they have rubber legs!
