I gotta say, Carrie Underwood becomes more magnetically attractive as she ages. That's very difficult for most women to pull off! This straight rock song is a good one. You go girl. Good choice, thank you PPM!
We all slip in our spelling sometimes, I knew she was Mareen. The best GF I was ever lucky enough to have was an ex-Marine. She wasn't a BAM, either. This can be interpreted as "Bad Assed Marine," or "Broad Assed Marine." She was a just a hint of the former and none of the latter!
Othello is a small farming community just south of Moses lake-about 30 miles-Daniel. agian my apologies to Mareen and to you all, for spelling her name wrong! My bad.
Apology noted, yet I'm sure it doesn't bother her! Othello is almost at the center of that great state of Washington. Hmm. Beginning to doubt the need for this post. My bad. Again.
I was searching for "On the Boardwalk" and this pops up.Bruce willis can sing! Whoda' thunk it! Not great but damn not bad either.
Daniel-my legs-as yours-work at a relative diminished capability. They shake a bit, my hands as well making this keyboard a bit of a challenge and my responses usually somewhat short.
I hear you my brother. Be patient with your self. Be kind to your diminished self. The flood of youth is gone, now we trickle slowly past our nadir and reach down to the sea where Ocean awaits our coming. We were meant to wind down this mountain. We were meant to leave this life in our time. We must stand strong as the young look to us in order to gauge what is to come for them. In South America there is a tribe that has this custom. Each year the oldest woman in the tribe, we're talking a woman in her eighties. Each and every year she sits before all her people and asks that they strap a hive of stinging bees to her bare ancient chest and back. She sits there motionless without expression on her face. She sits until the bees are exhausted stinging her. I first saw this in my early 20;s. I could not then understand such cruelty. I saw the same film tract in my 60's and it seems so obvious to me then. She is giving them her strength for their days to come. How can a young man or women weaken before the trials of this life with such a grandmothers eyes upon them. She is giving them a gauge, a measurement of pain and a measurement of what they can endure when the people are hard pressed by this world. Now I think of you when I think of her. Thank you for showing the only young how to face an unendurable fate, Thank you for showing me the same.
Little known fact of Santana fans is that Peter Green is the writer of Black Magic Woman. It doesn't belong to Santana, although they made it popular in the States. Ask any Brit, and the song is Fleetwood Mac's/Peter Green's.
Who knew? That son of a gun sure sings better than I do, oh the ignominy. Thank you porporme, I needed a bit of humbling. What a find!
This is a very good song. Thank you for posting it, Daniel! Funny, I have the same bass that the young whippersnapper in this video plays. But she plays it about two light years better than I do. Humbling. And as a bass player, all of that high pitched yammering that exudes from electric guitars isn't always better than geniuses like Tal Wilkenfeld play that are much more soothing in pitch.
Thanks for breaking the ice with Fleetwood Mac, ppm! This group was something to behold. I was dimly aware of them before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks became part of them. They are now among my top ten choices of all time.
There's nothing amiss with Peter Green's version. But after a zillion years of hearing Santana performing it, I think he sorta owns it now.
I literally stumbled across Zucchero Fornaciari a number of years ago when he paired with Eric Clapton
