Tower Of Guns was made in the spirit of old First Person Shooters where run-n-gun is the game. Take on battallions of cannons through procedurally made levels as you work your way to the boss. Upgrade your gun and purchase abilities to aid you on the way.

    Rule of Thumb:
High settings = More detail, lower frame rates
Low settings = Less detail, higher frame rates

    Conclusion:
I had been testing Tower Of Guns for weeks because it would run perfectly after installation, then it would crash the next time I launched it. Turns out this was a problem in Windows a well. The developers released a patched version on GOG and now it runs perfectly!
If you have any problems with the mouse in the menu, just move your mouse all the way around the screen and it should work fine. Otherwise, try turning off "virtual desktop" in Wine Configuration.

Update: GOG now has the Linux version of Tower Of Guns

Hi Booman, it has been a while since I installed a game using POL so it is likely I am missing something but I don't understand why on your "downloading Gecko screenshot" I read wine 1.7.8-d3d-doublebuffer (x86) installer.

Is this a screenshot from another game?

Good point, not sure why it says 1.7.8, but you can ignore that screenshot.
Just make sure to download Wine 1.6.2
You can probably run Tower Of Guns in Wine 1.7.26 or 1.7.27 as well.

    Thanks Booman.

Do you recommend this game? I had never heard of it before, and at first, when I read that the version you tried was from GOG.com, I thought it was an old game I somehow missed, so after checking Wikipedia I was surprised to learn it was released this year.

I must say that the maps from your screenshots look very familiar with a clear UT3 style, which I like very much.

Well, maybe it's time for my first GOG purchase.

Its really a quick play run-n-gun game. No major story or epic plot. Just go from one area to the next shooting everything that moves.
Your weapons upgrade and you get some abilities like double-jump, speed, etc.
So its not really a game you play through in 10-15 hours, but instead you play for 30 minutes and then move on to a different game.

It is pretty fun and intense fighting off all the cannons and robots.
