    Conclusion:
Lichdom Battlemage has been one of the most frustrating games to test for a long time. I purchased it on a sale at GOG and never got it to work until now. I'm not sure if the version of Wine or DXVK made a difference, but I've tried older versions of both and it still crashed at loading the first level. In fact Windows gamers are experiencing the same problem. After figuring out the Fullscreen Windowed setting and finding wininet is required, now it runs perfectly! My GeForce GTX 1060 was able to handle all the settings on high.

When you first launch the game, be patient as it may take a bit to load. Specially loading any level. It appears to be "locked up" but it will eventually load the level fine.

I finally finished Lichdom Battlemage. This game is pretty long and really fun! There is a bit of linearity and repetitiveness... but other than that its fun!
There was a spot where the game crashed every time! At the crab boss. So I found if I crank down the graphics settings it continued. Then I cranked them back up again.
