John Le Carre died yesterday at 89. He was one of my very favorite authors. The world will miss him.

Long ago I said that I'd be happy if I wrote half as well as John Le Carre did. After years of reality set in I'd be happy to write ten percent as well as he did. Don't think that ten percent would be possible, it's not that I'm so bad, he was THAT good!

And such an interesting nuanced, human, and shades of gray war it was by the courtesy of his pen!
