Dungeon Siege III is an Action RPG where you play as the last Legionnaire who will save the people of Ehb. Focusing on story, loot and decision-making dialog, you will hack-n-slash through linear levels with amazing skills and magical abilities.

Follow my step-by-step guide on installing, configuring and optimizing Dungeon Siege III in Linux with PlayOnLinux.

Note: This guide applies to the Steam version of Dungeon Siege III. Other versions may require additional steps.

    Tips & Specs:

Try SteamPlay before using this guide as Valve now uses a fork of Wine called Proton and should run most Windows games.

    • Multisample Antialiasing
    • Shadow Quality
    • Texture Quality
    • Shader Quality
    • Visual Effects Quality
    Set Shader Quality to: Low
Anything other than "low" will result in black textures for everything

    Click Apply
    siege45.png

    Conclusion:
Dungeon Siege played rather well and only had a few graphical artifacts. There are some flickering textures or shaders as your character moves around the environment. Keep shaders set to Low, because Medium and High result in black textures. Otherwise, everything else works great: mouse/keyboard, load/save, frame rates, inventory and graphical user interface.

Thanks! I might actually play through this one. Almost purchased two because of co-op, but there were too many bad reviews on the co-op functionality

I'm still playing Dungeon Siege III after taking a few months off. I'm at the boss fight with Katharine.... its very difficult and I know there is more game-play afterwards.

I actually finished Dungeon Siege III in PlayOnLinux. I don't remember how long the game was, but pretty fun nevertheless
