"My issue was that of Arc not being able to install any games, and no pop-up window even after minimizing with taskmanager(wine)..."
This is what was happening to me. Arc installed it just wouldn't ever go past 0% downloading of Neverwinter. But Neverwinter works fine now, just...
Not yet. That is one of my next projects. Getting my NWN server moved over to Linux. Should be fun, I'm looking forward to it. And I know the player client is native for Linux. Any idea if the toolset works in Linux?
Yep, that is exactly what I do, lol. Play solo most of the time so I don't feel rushed and can enjoy the story and explore. Then if I find a hard area or boss I'll group up. That's usually when my daughters come save me, lol. We all game in my family, the wife really only likes Neverwinter...
The newer one, Star Wars: The Old Republic (which uses a different engine than all of them, Hero Engine) looks nice. I like the game play. The story lines are really good. Even with it being a MMO I still usually play it like a single player game. Every now and then I will party up with one of...
A little correction on my part: Neverwinter Nights used Aurora engine. Neverwinter Nights 2 used modified Aurora engine. And Knights of the Old Republic used Odyssey engine, a heavily modified version of Aurora.
I don't like giving out wrong info. Had to go look it all up and correct myself, lol.
I think it was just the initial start of the game where it was doing that. It runs great now. I am doing all this on integrated graphics. Intel i5 with HD 3000 graphics. I have the newest Intel drivers installed from here...
When I say Knights of the Old Republic was built using the same engine as Neverwinter Nights I mean the first Neverwinter Nights. Not the 2nd one that you made the guide for.
Yep. I had it set exactly like the guide above. Mine just didn't like it for some reason. I had to match the virtual desktop to my real desktop. And match the settings in that config file.
Internet was fine. I was surfing while I waited 30 minutes, but it just sat there. I installed it without Arc and it is patching right now. Already at 16%
On Neverwinter forums in a post about people complaining about Arc I came across this, http://download.perfectworld.com/nw/neverwinter_setup.exe , and installed without Arc  It is patching right now.
Hmmmm, on Neverwinter I get Arc installed and it is on the screen where it says downloading and just sits there at 0%. At the time of this post it has been sitting there for 30 minutes without moving. Any ideas?
Just in case it helps anyone else trying to install this game.....
I was getting "failed resetting direct3d device" just before login screen and then it would close.
I had to change my production_Config.ini file to full screen and set it to match my screen resolution. That file is located in...
I'm relatively new to POL, but not new to computers. So I'm used to working through problems.
SWTOR is a completely different engine, one I haven't heard of before.
KOTOR was built using the same engine as Neverwinter Nights, which I also love.
