Borderlands Sanctuary 3

One of my favorite ship interiors is in Borderlands 3!
Ever since Borderlands 1 the visuals, textures, graphics and shaders have improved incredibly.

I decided to load up the game and visit Sanctuary III for some wallpaper screenshots.

Each shot was taken with almost all settings on High and using the Photo Mode in the Esc menu.
I played around with focus and field-of-view for more dramatic shots.

Some are simply a wall with wallpaper-ish items.
Each screenshot is 1920x1080 PNG

Enjoy!

My work is in need of some Chrombooks, so I went on CDW and Amazon to look for a few 14 inch models...
To my surprise almost all of them are SOLD OUT!

This is great news for Linux as Chromebook use Chrome OS which is a Linux distribution developed by Google. Its awesome seeing the growing need for cheap laptops with Linux already ready-to-go!

No system is absolutely secure!

No matter how many steps or processes you implement, there is always a potential security hole.

This guide is going to present a few ways to secure your system from intrusions, malicious software and unwanted connections. There is always a balance between security and convenience. The more secure your system is, the less convenient is it to use.

Who wants a “bricked” computer because it is so secure you can’t even use it?

Please use some of the suggestions below as a baseline to secure your system. Then implement more in the future as you learn how to manage them.

Linux Built-In Security
  • sudo
  • Permissions
Every Linux distribution includes security features like other operating systems.
Users are tied to groups with access to their own files and data. Linux adds another layer of security when an application needs to run or install. The...

Linux Mint Rescue

The Problem

There will be a day when Linux stops working, booting or just has a random problem. Sometimes it may require hours of research, posting questions and trial-n-error to fix it. It is good to learn how to fix issues, but sometimes you are in a pinch and need it fixed quickly.

The solution

Install Linux in the free space on your hard drive, then set your old Mint as your /home

When most people install Linux they end up using the entire hard drive as a single partition. This is the easy way to get it installed quickly and efficiently, but there is a downside...
  • What if Linux will not boot?
  • What if Grub stops working?
  • What if it keeps crashing?
There is a plethora of issues that can happen to your computer just like with Windows or Mac. I found a fairly quick and painless way to rescue your operating system and data without a lot of trouble.

Apparently there is a need to run Mac applications in Linux just like running Windows applications in Linux.

In comes Darling!

I can see this being beneficial for those Mac only games or programs that just look better and run better in Mac than Windows.

EvilGnome Linux Spyware

Its rare to see a malware or spyware on Linux, but this article shows that someone has been working on one for Desktop

https://thehackernews.com/2019/07/linux-gnome-spyware.html

The Spy Agent of EvilGnome contains five malicious modules called "Shooters," as explained below:

  • ShooterSound— this module uses PulseAudio to capture audio from the user's microphone and uploads the data to the operator's command-and-control server.
  • ShooterImage— this module uses the Cairo open source library to captures screenshots and uploads them to the C&C server. It does so by opening a connection to the XOrg Display Server, which is the backend to the Gnome desktop.
  • ShooterFile— this module uses a filter list to scan the file system for newly created files and uploads them to the C&C server.
  • ShooterPing— the module receives new commands from the C&C server, like download and execute new files, set new filters for file scanning...
