The Stanley Parable available on steam, have got to be one of the most intriguing games I've played in a long time. I really find it difficult to explain except that it is just so entertaining, and thing never seem to be the same in the game. I have been playing it for a couple of hours now and it just keeps amazing me.

I am running it with wine version 1.7.6 without any special settings.

    It looks very interesting.
And since its a Source game, it should run fine in Linux.
Do I need to have the SDK installed to play it?

I don't have SDK installed, and it plays great. The only problem I've seen is that certain lights can be seen through walls, but I've not really tried to fix as it does not bother me. I just installed this in my standard steam virtual drive that I always try first for new games I test. I don't think you'll have any problems getting this game working.

After watching some of the video's I'm not sure if I'll like it at all.
    Seems very repetitive and annoying.

Can you describe how the game-play works without spoiling it?

The game itself is very short, although you can quickly spend more time than you intended simply be attempting to see what happens if you make a different turn. I quite enjoy the humor in the game.

I saw one video about the game that also made me think it was repetitive, however I was quite pleasantly surprised when I played it myself.

Very shortly, you find yourself in an office complex, and a narrator is talking and describing everything. I would say that the funniest thing about this game is the "interaction" you have with the narrator. You can follow the narrator's story, or you can decide to go off on your own, much to the narrator's frustration.

However, don't expect much from this game. I found myself having had enough after a couple of hours of game time. When I say had enough, I don't mean that in a fed up kind of way, I just felt that it was enough. I still have some options I want to explore in the game once I feel ready to dive into it again.

Very interesting again... I have to admit, I didn't have any headphones on when I watched the movie. So I missed part of the "gimmick"
    I'll check them out again.
    Thanks Daerandin.
