Yeah, I enabled the signature images, too, because Daniel's Rules Writ in Stone says we have them. (they weren't enabled yet.) We can change that if we want, if we don't want to offer it right away.
oh, thanks ThunderRd! I was very happy to link to my linux stuff in my signature. I'm not going to use images in my signature. the more images on a page the more time it will take to load. It may be a good idea to turn off images in signatures

sweet, but I have noticed for a few years now that pages load slowly, probably because of the ads. I'm always thinking about optimizing even if its not totally necessary
Most of AOA's slowness is indeed due to the ads; if you browse with ads disabled, or use the https site (which is effectively the same as no ads), it's a lot faster.
