Royal Quest Guide

Royal Quest is a massive multi-player Online Role Playing Game that is free to play. Using a similar business model as other RPG's you can create your own character from 4 classes and explore Aura completing quests, teaming up with other players. Level up skills, obtain loot from enemies and join guilds.

Follow my step-by-step guide on installing, configuring and optimizing Royal Quest in Linux with PlayOnLinux.

Note: This guide applies to the Steam version of Royal Quest. Other versions may require additional steps.

Tips & Specs:

Try SteamPlay before using this guide as Valve now uses a fork of Wine called Proton and should run most Windows games.

Rule of Thumb:
High settings = More detail, lower frame rates
Low settings = Less detail, higher frame rates

Conclusion:
Royal Quest runs beautifully with my GeForce 550 Ti. I maxed almost everything in the graphics menu. The textures and animations are very smooth and crisp. I have not experienced any problems or gliches. The game starts out pretty slow and you have to do many meaningless chores for NCP's, but later there should be some great dungeons and bosses.
[edit]
After leveling up two characters to level 11, I have experienced a random crash here and there. Just kill rqmain.exe in the system monitor and launch again. This crash does not affect your characters skills, specs, quests, or location.
