I'd have to agree. He obviously doesn't care about the award. I understand that his live shows are to be avoided because he doesn't give a hoot about the audience.

Clearly a poetic genius, but tbh the most fun I ever had listening to Dylan was when he was a Wilbury.

    Those guys were GREAT together.

Since I turned 16 he has had an influence in every decade of my life. Many many people have pleased and blown me away with their music, but if I could choose only one song writer it would be Bob, no hesitation, it would be Bob.

I really liked the Travelling Wilburys. In their most popular videos, Mr Dylan had the least screen time. Guess this won't make Daniel happy. Dylan is a genius, can't argue with that.

It doesn't make me unhappy. Bob often took second place when working with others...he blends well I think.,...perhaps another measure of his greatness?

    I hung on every word.
They say that once you truly know a thing well, you can state it simply. He gave an incredible condensation of three Classics. At least a thousand books has been written in explanation of each of them.

I tried really hard to find the version of the following song, ( Utube) I listen to and love and could not find it with any tonal quality at all,

    Aha! found it!

I could have guessed all of his musical heritage... Buddy Holly that floored me. I've always liked Buddy
But some times found his lyrics awkward. (True love ways) But always sincere

But I can always hook-up with "Rave on"

    Oh! about my music I have no sense of time, I can't tell when most things I listen to were released. As I'm not a social listener and get my music from the library it's just not an issue for me. So here's one of my recent favorites ....from long ago...I listen at lest once a week.I'm listening to it now.":O}

For me Dylan totally captures in words and music everything I ever felt about Gypsy culture. The shear ROMANCE of this song just sweeps me away to far off lands
    with musics unknown and wonderful!

    (Oh, TR just the best.":O}

"One more cup of coffee before I go (The valley below)"

    Your breath is sweet
Your eyes are like two jewels in the sky
Your back is straight, your hair is smooth
On the pillow where you lie
    But I don’t sense affection
    No gratitude or love
Your loyalty is not to me
    But to the stars above

One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee ’fore I go
    To the valley below

    Your daddy he’s an outlaw
    And a wanderer by trade
He’ll teach you how to pick and choose
And how to throw the blade
    He oversees his kingdom
    So no stranger does intrude
His voice it trembles as he calls out
    For another plate of food

One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee ’fore I go
    To the valley below

    Your sister sees the future
    Like your mama and yourself
You’ve never learned to read or write
There’s no books upon your shelf
And your pleasure knows no limits
Your voice is like a meadowlark
But your heart is like an ocean
    Mysterious and dark

One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee ’fore I go
    To the valley below

Thank you to ThunderRd and Daniel for the references and illumination! Read it first, but listening really adds a lot to the full flavor. He nails "All Quiet on the Western Front." War really bites for those in it.
