My current job has been overwhelming over the last year and I've burned out.
So my wife and I started looking for a new job a few weeks ago.

Surprisingly we found an IT opening for Cirrus Logic right here in Mesa Arizona. Practically down the street.
They called me and I went through a few interviews then an in-person interview and they offered me the job.

I start August 21st and have to fly to Austin Texas for the orientation/training.
I'm getting a pay increase and am mainly supporting 45 audio engineers.
    How cool is that?

They have a bunch of audio labs and do a lot of hardware/software design for mic and speakers for all kinds of applications. Like smartphones, tablets, motherboards, cars, etc.

Thanks guys! I know it will... I'm excited to work in another industry.
I'm staying away from the legal industry and the newspaper industry.
Now its on to audio technology industry.

It's kinda cool that audio must use amplification of analog signals to work. At least as far as speakers go. AFAIK.

Yeah, I'll learn all about the science behind audio at this new job.
I can't wait. They even have a division in Scotland with Linux administrators.
How cool would that be to move to Scotland and do Linux all day?

A lot cooler than Arizona. Dunno about the pay scale, though.

Me either. I've always heard that Arizona is is cheaper to live in than other states, but outside US... I have no idea. I don't even know how my pay rate would translate either?

Try "US Dollar to UK Pound" at ask.com. I chose the first link shown. Right now one UK Pound equals $1.29. The dollar has been hammered for quite a while now.

It is not cheap to live in the UK, but it would be an experience to remember.

Isn't it great that fleas carry the Bubonic Plague in Coconino and Navajo counties in your fair state right now? Don't worry, I'm sure it will spread to other states soon.

Actually, that's a badly hammered GBP. For most of the last two decades, the pound has been worth $1.60-1.85. As recently as 2006 or 2007, it was almost 2 to 1, like $1.95 or 1.98 or something. GBP has fallen dramatically in the 20-teens.

As long as central banks are run by and for the bankers, aka Banksters, we won't get a fair shake. Seem to be very short of bankers in my family. Something to be proud of? Why not?

Started my new job Monday. I had to fly to Austin Texas and stay in a Hotel. I love their building and facilities!
I'm back in AZ now and starting my training here. They have great benefits, management, policies and free vending machines. Who could want anything more?

Oh, and it pays well too.

    You sneaky devil!
I give you the summer off and you use it to et another job...one that PAYS!

Do you really need money so much that you would pass up a chance to work for me...for Free.
That's right I've never charged you a dime for the work I let you do!!
I'm telling you you won't like it!
They will want to show five days a week...The SAME 5 days every week!
Unlike working for me, you will have to bring your body to work!!

You'll have to wash your hands and face everyday! Put on clean clothes almost every week!

If you continue on this path, as you yourself point out, you might well end up in foreign lands
where they try to speak our language and it comes out sounding like English instead of 'merican!

Think of the Children, could they ever return home once little mouths are filled with foreign sounds?

Just please remember survival isn't everything! It's just the part people are always going on about....

because it hurts to die. Other wise we would barely mention survival.

But I'm sure you considered all these issues when making your decision.

But you just have to tell me!
If You and the Big D. weren't burnt out by doing 300 games, just what was your other job, I'm guessing you were making matches..or road flares. Am I right?

I will add this to the list of things I must remember to be thankful for.
    This should be the beginning of a beautiful thing.Not many jobs you can say that about is there.":O}
