One of my computers has a old GeForce 8800 GTS and it finally died. Started showing all kinds of artifacts and crashing games.
Now I am in need of a replacement card.
Let me know if any of you have an extra video card that will play Team Fortress 2 and Left4Dead 2.
I prefer a GeForce card, but right now I'll take anything I can get.

    This is a Windows box

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forums Dave
I can't afford a new 750 Ti or even an older 550 Ti

    Right now? $0 - $0
I don't really have anything to trade either.
I have a few old Dell Laptops and an old small form factor media center PC. All Pentium 4 stuff.
A friend is probably donate a GeForce 8800 and I just added two 120mm fans to that case, so it should stay pretty cool.
I don't know if I burnt out that 8800 from heat or if it was faulty, but it was an old card and ran really well. It would get so hot that the top of my case was hot to touch.
I'll probably put some new thermal paste on this one and see if it stays cool.

You can get an XFX R7 250X Core Edition right now from bestbuy for 70 bucks. 4K gaming, mantle, all of it is updated in that card.

Trust me the 250X or 260X core editions are pretty rugged as they are. Look them up.

I looked up a few cards on newegg.com and still want the 750 Ti
There are a few that are about $100.00
I'll never regret spending a bit more on a video card
Hence how my 8800's and 9800's are still cranking games.

However tomorrow GTX 950 is launched and in preliminary test seems good

Stay very closer to GTX 760 performance with only 90w

Notice how the GeForce 750 Ti still performs nicely in those benchmarks?
I can pick up one of those for $100
The 950 sounds GREAT, but in the long run I can't afford it.
Ideally I want to replace all of my video cards which means purchasing 4 cards total.

Yeah GTX 750 is very good card and small form factor / performance / watt is excellent and now with lower price

However if could stay in 100us will be ideal

I will probably wait until those 900's get a bit older
I've always purchase 256-bit video cards, but right now they are closer to $200 US
    Way out of my budget.
But if the 950's and 750 Ti's play most games, then those might be better in my situation.
We aren't playing The Witcher 3 on HIGH, instead we play older titles like Unreal Tournament 3, Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, Borderlands 2, etc
Those run great even on an 8800

You could look up the XFX R7 250/60X core editions. They are like 80 Bucks and can do 4K.

Radeon is not option for wine, many problems lower performance (gallium is different*), lower compatibility (native and wine based games), higher consume, not have good support** (native and wine based games) etc...

*gallium is patched version without support and have many bugs (see gallium git for more information), unstable without forget other issues

**wine dont have support because them dont approve double implementation

    :)
