For this install, I used Debian 9 Stretch & PlayOnLinux to install The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Legendary Edition & the Construction Set. I want to cite this tutorial, which was mostly helpful in assisting in my install: http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/threads/elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion-guide.178/ Mostly, in this post, I wanted to draw attention to the fact that Shivering Isles & Knights of the Nine do not install without opengl video rendering, not actually. I as well wanted to draw the attention of readers to this most helpful post about Linux installation of the Construction Set: https://www.gog.com/forum/elder_scrolls_series/properly_running_oblivions_construction_set_on_linux That cited, & doubly noted, Construction Set download, modified & cited upon Nexus Mods, actually is the only Construction Set download that works for Linux, or that worked for me, upon various noted failed attempts to use the UESP Construction Set. https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/11367 Thanks to the Community of Linux users for making Linux Gaming potential. (Note: I would like to append this post with detailed instructions for installing Wrye Bash & other Mod Organizers & tools for Linux at a later point.)
Please do append this post with detailed instructions for installing Wrye Bash and other tools at a later point.
Very nice! Thank you for noting some changes when using PlayOnLinux to install Oblivion, expansions and the construction set. At this point we are not updating our step-by-step guides since there are just too many and only one person creates them. We might be able to add your tips in the comments, but the proper way would be to re-test Oblivion from scratch and try to install everything again. This is definitely possible in the future. Thanks!
