I do not know how many veteran's days we have seen. I do not know how many veterans we have celebrated. I only know that I owe everything to their service and valor. I only know I can never pay my debt and that i an grateful to be in their debt. To have received their service is in and of itself a very great honor. It may be true that "they also serve who only stand and wait..' But i can never forget that "Some came running." That some wagered their lives, some freely gave their lives that i might sit here tonight a free man among a free people who have never been without our heroes. Happy veterans day has never seemed to me a proper way to express my real feelings. so... Holy veteran's day to all who have served our great nation still waiting to be born of their sacrifice. thank You for being Americans.
