I read about this today, and it sounds very much like the nicknamed "Bad Bios" that security consultant Dragos Ruiu found himself struggling with some years back.

If I'm going to go extra paranoid, I might suspect that he was a test subject for an early version of this malware.

I don't believe in hell, but hell is too good for the people who make this kind of stuff.
