I stopped playing after the DX9 update last year. Tried installing using supposedly good POL scripts, but they always failed. Finally got motivated to join up with some friends and got the thing to run pretty well.

    Anyone need an install guide?

Yeah, I probably need to update our Guide.
Did you have to use DXVK to run it?

    Not at all.

SIMPLE EXPLANATION: I used the POL script to build the environment. The installer that the script called had an issue where it installed into a temp directory that get's erased when the program ends but I found a good binary and simply ran it within the environment.

NOT AS SIMPLE EXPLANATION: Run POL. Set WIN version to WIN10, wine to 3.4 and 64 bit. Installed corefonts, tahoma, d3dx9, d3dx10, d3dx11, msxml3, msvc100, vcrun2012, vcrun2013, and physx. Get binary from a Facebook group mentioned on the POL forums, but I can't seem to find it here. Need to check the computer that I'm gaming on and I'll throw up the link here when I get to it.

Awesome! What a cool game, and love that it still runs in Wine.
I wonder if DXVK would give us some additional performance?

That would not be bad... I get a small stutter every couple of minutes, but it seems to run well so far.

I played online with my daughter a few years back. We played every morning for months. It was a LOT of fun!
In fact, that was the second MMO we played together. The first was Firefall, which we liked also, but Neverwinter was a lot more fun. Well actually the "real" first was Drakensang Online, but that is a bit different. Still great game, too bad it doesn't run anymore due to the mouse issue.

We don't normally play online, but these were fun games and had some fun communities and interactions.
We also more recently played TERA and Riders of Icarus. But only TERA ran in PlayOnLinux. Riders of Icarus had an anti-cheat that just didn't work in Wine.
TERA got to the point where it would barely run and we were getting tired of it anyways.

You might want to give it a try again. LOTS of new content, and Lord Never has seen fit to grace those who have been gone for a while with a lot of power points and some treasure.

I'm actually torn between re-running the early solo content and finding a guild so I can advance my older toons.

Thats cool. I'll ask my daughter if she wants to play it again.
We are finishing up Borderlands Pre-Sequel right now
