Park manager just informed us that the fire department wants us out, the river she is raising. if this turns out to not be precautionary the good lord alone knows where or how we will be. Everything i own is in this trailer which after three years of fighting and screaming and yelling (her not me) I was completely unable to get her to buy 30 dollars a year worth of insurance..She can't say why.. So pray for a good outcome. Right now 25 million Americans are under water. Who would have thought it would flood at 1700 feet.! We have been invited to stay at the fire house or a lodge belonging to the trailer park., Don't know anything beyond what I have said. Bird and cat first on our list... See you soon! Much love.
We got packed up and drove off. Found the Fire station. They had only issued a be prepared to leave warning The rest seem to have come from women talking...sigh So I'm back in my roost, they will tell us if we need to go.
We had three avalanches between here and Emuclaw. The river has dropped a foot and it still looks like a different river. Now everything depends upon the rain. The ground is saturated with 4 inches of water surrounding our trailer. The river s very fast, but will is carry enough away to ease matters? Don't freak if I'm go dark. I'm amazed that I haven't lost internet connections. We now know where we will go, a community center less that two miles from us. I should be able to post any changes as they occur, "if the river don't rise" always wanted to say that!)
Wow, sorry to hear about the drama! I'm praying that your home is safe and you both are safe! Hopefully your home won't be floating down the river on the news.
I sincerely hope that you and Patti, cat and bird come through this unscathed. And dear Mr Flood and Travail spirit, let my friends house stay right where it belongs, PLEASE. The rain has been heavy hereabouts for two weeks or more, our rain is supposed to be soft and cheerful. Love to have that kind of rain back. Train tracks and roads have been closed for days, it's serious trouble. Seattle's page at Weather.com featured eleven, that's 11 items of shaky hillsides, wind, flooding rivers and Small Craft Warnings for a few days. Previous record was 5.
I believe the famous line went "The good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise." Where the heck are you Dan? We miss your presence here.
sorry to worry you guys! all is well now. there were three land slides on the road from here to Emnuclaw. The big one took the road clean out. no one in or out for 5 days! Then they organized s caravan down the mountain with an escort to bring them all home again. Power out for 5 days, just got back online tonight. Now tell me if you've heard this one before: Row our camp manger came by to tell each of us that the owner has decided to forego his rightful rent for this month. This will really help those (Patti) who missed work. The river has subsided and the waters are greatly reduced and calmed. Here's another story: I bought a TV as I posted. But couldn't afford the one I wanted even at 43 inches It was suppoed to get here on the 7th. Then all hell broke lose on our road. so it didn't get here. Amazon lets you cancel, if you like and re-order.In the mean time the one I really wanted dropped in price to just $50 bucks more. And! The camp owner paid for my TV and Patti's missed wages. is it ridiculous to think God wanted me to have the TV I wanted..of course it is, unless you happen to believe such things do occur from time to time. So when you take a knee tonight please thank God for my TV":O}
Glad to hear you're OK! I can't understand what's with all the rain. Seems to have rained here almost every day for 6 months.
Whew, I'm happy to read that you all are A-OK! Landlord foregoing rent is most usually a fantasy, if yours isn't write it down for the world to see!
The British Isles have been hammered by the weather for what seems like three years. I will send a thank you note to The Thing that inhabits our White House, mentioning it's pioneer work in addressing climate change. Looks like Business MUST be Job One---and climate change is a hoax. We are extremely lucky, the Pacific Northwest is just barely bruised by our friend, Mr Weather. We'll catch up, I promise!
Well i was almost burned out 2 years ago, and almost washed away this year...i'd say we are catching up.";o]
We had 4 inch's of snow on the ground, then the rains came and we had 4 inch's of water under four inches of snow, crunch splash, crunch splash.":O}
No-one has a basement in my area, it's originally a marsh at around sea level. The ground was raised up a few feet before this house was built on it. I've switch jobs now, I was building houses but my employer retired so I changed to working in horticulture which is a family business but I am more like an outdoor cleaning lady.
"If you want to be happy for an hour...get drunk If you want to be happy for a week, read a good book. If you want to be happy for a year get married If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, grow a garden" Old Chinese proverb. A thoughtful man man walks a path of many winding's. You've always been a thoughtful man. Learn to love the sharp turns and never look back at dangers avoided. You carry your success within you. Is my posting n this manner why I don't see yo as much as I would like? ":O}
100ft high flames less than a mile from my local. Ashes came down like snow, but the wind favored us at the last minute and so I still have a home... Honest to God I'm just so grateful!
